They say a little rain on your wedding day is good luck… Now I’m not here to argue, but I’d say good fortune is pretty much imminent when you’re marrying your person — whether rainclouds or sunny skies! So, when the heavens decided to open up and dust Andy & Katie’s nuptials with a little liquid confetti, our two love birds embraced the hitch and carried on their blissfully elegant way into forever. Luck indeed!
A word from planner, Brie of Cosmopolitan Events:
“This was a beautiful wedding that we did for Katie + Andy in St. Louis, Missouri. Their “I do”s were shared at a ceremony at the Shrine of St. Joseph before they headed to the Palladium for their reception! This wedding was simple, elegant, and unique and focused on a mist green theme!”
Love notes from the couple, Andy & Katie:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
“We first met in college at the University of Miami. We started out just a friends — going out in the same circles to the Grove, squeezing onto the same sweaty school buses to UM football games, and making the trek to South Beach together on the weekends!”
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
Katie: “One hurdle was doing long distance for one year since Andy is a year older in school. Andy moved to Washington, DC after graduation and I was still in Miami for my senior year of college. We survived the long distance and I graduated and joined him the following year in DC!”
Tell us a story relating to your relationship!
Katie: “For our proposal, Andy took me for a getaway weekend in Point Reyes for our 5 year anniversary. During a breathtaking hike in Mount Tam, Andy pulled off the best surprise proposal ever on a peak above the clouds! When we got back to the apartment in SF, family and friends had flown in to surprise me and celebrate with them all weekend!”
