Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

Downtown Charleston, with it’s colorful doors … just the backdrop for this sweet engagement session for Adam and Camilla and their pup! Check out how much we fell in love with this below 🙂

from the photographer: Immediately upon arrival we knew we were going to love this session! Camilla showed up in a yellow jumpsuit, and if you know me – you know yellow is by far one of my favorite colors to photograph on film; Adam in classy patterned pants and their amazingly cute Australian Shepherd Puppy – Gansett. We’ll admit, Gansett stole the show. He’s just a few months old and listened so incredibly well! He followed Adam and ran to him every second he got! They brought a friend along to help us take Gansett in and out of the photos during the session. We started our session at the well-known blue Tradd Street door, walked along Rainbow Row and ended our session on the bloom filled Charleston Battery. These three were a joy to photograph and we couldn’t be more excited to share some of our favorites with you!

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Camilla grew up in Texas while Adam grew up in Rhode Island. We met while in college at the University of Rhode Island. The first encounter was briefly in 2014 at a friend’s house. We then re-met officially in 2016 at Camilla’s house while having a BBQ. Camilla’s first impression that day was “Wow, this guy is so funny! He’s giving me his full attention, so kind, good looking, and fit!”
Adam’s first impression of Camilla was that “she was sweet, fun, and has a big heart. I can’t wait to get to know this girl.”

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
The reception! We are so excited to just get the dinner and cake cutting and all the nonsense out of the way and get to grooving! We are big on having a good time and dancing! Our planner, Mandalynn Schwartz, has helped us coordinate time so we get can relax and enjoy the party!
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
Adam has learned to step outside of his comfort zone.
Camilla has learned a different kind of love. Something so powerful and strong that it is unmatched in any other way. Nothing can come in between us with the passion we have for one another.
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Adam says, “my favorite thing about you is your fun and loving personality.
Camilla says, “I never get bored with you, we can spend an unlimited amount of time together and I can still never get enough of you.”

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
Looking for wedding dresses was so much fun!! Then once I started my alterations it was the exciting feeling all over again because I got to put on THE dress of my dreams and plan out what we do next with it!
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Get your self a great wedding planner and just go for the full package of full service. Honestly, at first, I said I can plan this whole thing, no big deal. I’ll save money too by just doing it all on my own. NOPE. My venue ended up requiring at least a Day-Of Coordinator. I found Lovecraft Events and Mandalynn Shwartz literally saved me. I ended up getting partial planning because no I can not do it alone. I actually need all the support in the world!
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
“When you know you know.” My grandmother always said that to me and I never understood how you know who is Mr. Right. I just could never comprehend that feeling until I met Adam Korson. He is the man of my dreams and after meeting him and hanging out with him it did not take long for the both of us to completely be so open about wanting to spend the rest of our lives together! I don’t know if it was a moment that just hit me but just every time I would look at him I said, yes, he is the one.
