There are weddings that feel like a destination, and then there are weddings that feel like a story – one that unfolds slowly, beautifully, and with intention. Danielle and Caio’s two-day celebration in Tuscany was just that. Set against the rolling hills and golden light of Italy, their wedding blended rustic charm with refined romance, creating an experience that felt both elevated and deeply personal.
The weekend began with a joyful pizza party, setting the tone for what was to come – a celebration rooted in connection, laughter, and incredible food. From operatic serenades to garden aperitivos and candlelit dining beneath the stars, every detail was thoughtfully designed to reflect their love of family, culture, and the art of gathering. More than anything, it was a wedding that felt lived-in and full of meaning – a reflection not just of two people, but of a family coming together.
“It’s mostly patience, a little chaos, and a lot of laughter – and somehow, it makes life feel completely worth it.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We first met at work. At the time, it felt completely ordinary – just two people crossing paths in a professional setting, with no sense of what the future would hold. There was no dramatic moment or instant spark that day, though I do remember being struck by her beauty the very first time I saw her.
What’s funny is that our real beginning didn’t come until years later. After a series of life moments and shared experiences, something quietly shifted. We had been friends for nearly eight and a half years before we ever dated. When the timing finally aligned, it didn’t feel forced or surprising. It felt natural, like something that had been patiently waiting for us.
My first impression of her was what everyone notices right away: she is unbelievably stunning. But beyond her beauty, what stayed with me was her warmth – her bubbly, friendly energy, her incredible smile, and her expressive eyes. I initially assumed that someone so striking might be more reserved, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. She turned out to be deeply loving, nurturing, and warm – qualities that matter far more than first impressions ever could.
My first impression of Caio was a remarkable sense of familiarity. Meeting him at work in Canada, I was immediately struck by how effortlessly we connected – both being Brazilian allowed us to speak in Portuguese and feel a comforting sense of home. I remember thinking how calming and grounded he made me feel, as if his presence itself could quiet the world around us.
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
One of the funniest moments of the day came from just how much everyone underestimated the aperitivo hour after the ceremony. With incredible Italian cheeses, endless appetizers, and Aperol spritzes flowing, guests quickly found themselves completely full.
By the time dinner began, many admitted they physically couldn’t eat another bite – despite desperately wanting to. It became a running joke throughout the evening and, honestly, the best kind of problem to have.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
One of the biggest challenges in planning our wedding was blending our lives while balancing work, family, and everyday routines. Our first planner wasn’t local, which made it difficult to feel fully at ease – but meeting Sabrina at The Extraordinaire completely changed everything.
Her local expertise, authenticity, and guidance gave us the confidence to bring our vision to life. We approached the process the same way we approach life – as a team. Danielle led the creative direction alongside Sabrina, while Caio supported by helping refine decisions and offering perspective. It reinforced something we already knew: that partnership, trust, and shared responsibility are at the heart of our relationship.
Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
From the very beginning, it was important that our wedding reflected not just the joining of two people, but the blending of a family. We made a conscious effort to include our son Lorenzo in every part of the day, ensuring he never felt like a guest, but an essential part of the celebration.
He walked down the aisle with our rings, joined our grand entrance, waved napkins during dinner to “Volare,” and sat with us at the center of it all. While he had moments to simply be a child and enjoy the day, he always had a place beside us.
We also wanted to honor our shared Italian heritage. Choosing Tuscany felt natural – not only for its beauty, but for our love of wine, especially Chianti and Brunello, which hold a special place in our hearts.

What part of your wedding day was most important to you?
The most important part of our wedding day was the moment it truly felt like we were becoming a family. Standing together during the ceremony, with our son included, made everything feel grounded and real.
We were also incredibly moved by the presence of our friends, many of whom traveled from across the world – Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Brazil, the United States, and throughout Canada – just to be there with us. That level of love and support meant everything.
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
My favorite thing about her is the warmth she brings into our lives, especially as a mother. She has an effortless ability to make me laugh with the silliest jokes, and something as simple as her hugs means more to me than words can express.
What I love most about Caio is his quiet calm and the way he cares for us. He has this incredible ability to be fully present – whether I’m stressed, unwell, or just need someone to listen, he’s always there, steady and attentive, making me feel seen and supported.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
Our favorite part was choosing the location. Traveling to Italy together – tasting wines, enjoying incredible meals, and immersing ourselves in the culture – made the process feel like an experience rather than a task.
Watching our vision come to life was equally special. What began as an idea slowly transformed into something real, and seeing every detail come together required trust in our planner. They exceeded every expectation, and witnessing it all unfold was incredibly rewarding.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Take the leap, trust your love, and don’t sweat the small stuff. Celebrate the everyday moments, laugh often, and create a wedding that reflects what makes your love uniquely yours.
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
It’s mostly patience, a little chaos, and a lot of laughing at each other’s weird habits. But somehow, through all the mess and little annoyances, it’s also the thing that makes life feel completely, wonderfully worth it.
