In 2020, micro weddings became (almost) the only way to get married. A small guest list, maybe even just the two of you in an elopement style – and the vows. Done.
For those who wanted to get married and move on with their marriage versus waiting to have a big wedding after the pandemic, this was the way to go. The wedding industry jumped on this and began designing more inspiration for ways to have a classy and elegant affair in a much smaller version.
This feature brings the elopement style with some black-tie influence, backdropped by one of the most influential spots in the United States – Washington D.C. With the Capital and the National Mall in the background, this design aims to showcase an elegant micro wedding, with just two people present.

from the photographer: “In Washington DC, we are still having mostly only elopements and micro-weddings during the pandemic. We wanted to show case the Lincoln Memorial and the DC War Memorial, both located on the Reflection Pool on the National Mall. We also showcased the Botanical Gardens. It’s timeless DC romance! We wanted to keep it classic with blush, nudes, and creams, but add in the dark contrast of black to give it a modern feel. Our bride had two dresses, so that is included in these 50 images. We hope that you love our modern spin on this classic, romantic look.”
