I love a good play on old-meets-new; there’s something so intrinsically beautiful about witnessing the meeting of two very different worlds, each side bringing its own strengths, its own beauties, allowing the other to compliment its weaknesses. Soon, you find they’ve together built a grander and more lovely existence than they ever could have alone —and today’s feature is no exception!
A word from photographer Alayna Kaye Fox of Alayna Kaye Photography:
“When planning this inspiration shoot we knew we wanted a bold Fall/Winter-friendly color palette. Once we picked the venue, we knew the warmth of the outside walls of the Grant Humphreys Mansion would go perfectly with a deep purple, navy and golden yellow color combination. We wanted to stick to very classic details that would stand the test of time and also compliment this historic venue, but we wanted some sort of fun twist. So instead of choosing your typical cookie-cutter models, we went with an artsy couple who loves rock and roll and living life to the fullest. Jessie’s tattoos and nose piercing paired with Chase’s man-bun turned out to be the perfect mix of modern with the classic couture ballgown and vintage jewelry. The bold lip color by Carly Day and the big-braided updo by Laura’s Lookbook made for a statement bridal look. The table setup was in a window-filled sunroom with an antique chandelier and intricate crown molding, reminiscent of the age when this mansion was constructed. Our big question was why can’t a modern, trendy couple still dream of a classically elegant wedding? We came to the beautiful conclusion that they totally can.”
