The warmer months are beloved among many as the time to celebrate their nuptials, but there is such vision to be found in the wintertime! Today’s feature is a lovely example of a winter wedding inspiration warm enough to thaw our chilly hearts!
A word from Kelli Wellman of Kelli Lynn Photography:
“Winter. It can sometimes be thought of as the cold, dreary time of year where we feel confined to the indoors. Winter weddings have always been a favorite of mine though! There is something magical about winter and I wanted to bring that out in this shoot. With color inspirations of frosty blues and reds with lots of greenery, this inspiration shoot will hopefully illustrate just how lovely winter weddings can be, whether indoor or outside!
Built in 1858 as a wedding present, Ashford Acres is full of history! From surviving some destruction during the civil war to present day being owned by the creator of The Walking Dead comic, Ashford Acres is nothing short of magical. Tucked in the heart of Kentucky, this bed and breakfast provides stunning scenery for weddings throughout every season. For this shoot, we wanted to incorporate the classic feel of the home, with touches of winter inspiration.
In my opinion, one of the best parts of winter is hot chocolate! We incorporated vintage pieces from B&B Vintage Rentals, along with some more modern pieces from Bryant’s Rent-All to give the hot cocoa bar a homy, but elegant feel. Garland, deep reds and frosty blue gave way to showing that while outside during winter may not always be full of color, your wedding still can be! With a Hayley Paige dress from a southern favorite, Twirl Boutique, the model bride, Evan, looked stunning. The local custom tie and pocket square was provided by Goff Club Collection and was a perfect frosty blue accent to the dark blue suite from Generation Tux. We added touches of velvet throughout the day that provided nice texture that accented the white and gold dinnerware. The sweetheart table focused on displaying the winter floral arrangement, with velvet chairs for a nice vintage touch. Tall candle sticks lined the main tables, while frosty blue material ran the length of the table with garland accents. This winter inspiration shoot left me hoping for more future winter weddings!”
