Citrusy Baby Shower

This citrusy baby shower was the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming arrival of a sweet baby boy! Different elements were ingeniously paired together for the theme, with a mixture of bright colors, fun patterns, great bites and refreshments, this summer soirĂŠe was captivating and joyful!

As an event designer, there is no greater joy than planning and hosting your best friend’s baby shower, especially when both of your first little ones are on the way (and due one month apart)! When Abby, the Momma-to-be, was asked what her vision was for her baby shower, she chose the theme “Here Comes the Son”, not only for the irresistible play on words, but because she absolutely loves The Beatles. This inspired the unique “For the Record” sign-in table where guests left encouraging, kind words for Abby on the front cover of the Abbey Road album, while the Beatles classics played on vinyl.

Termed the “Sweet Sunrise”, guests were welcomed to the intimate backyard event with this fun mocktail, which played on the classic tequila sunrise with tropical flavors of pineapple + orange. After enjoying a refreshment and mingling, Abby’s closest family and friends shared some “bright bites” together in celebration of Noah, her baby boy due in July. All joined in to play fun shower games, including our unique “Groovy Baby” game, where teams guessed which Beatles song was playing on track. Finally, after showering Abby + Noah with gifts, everyone enjoyed a sweet treat, whether that was a slice of lemon lavender cake courtesy of local baker, Baking in Boots, or a delicious mango macaron from Baunilha Bean.

Bold patterns and textures played on this groovy 60’s theme, including the elegant bright orange and yellow BBJ Latavola linens. The orange swirled cocktail table linens inspired the one-of-a-kind invitation suite from Maddie Laidig Designs. Delicate floral arrangements, blooming potted plants, and citrus elements elevated the tabletops + signage, evoking fresh Spring whimsy. Each aspect came together beautifully to create an intimate garden-inspired gathering of Abby’s loved ones to celebrate the coming of baby Noah. -Ashley Skutka of Hamilton Events
