Dance With Me: Joe & Diana

Ballet Wedding Inspiration

Today’s feature is a bit of a marriage of sorts, a joining together of inspiration and the celebration of two souls very much in love. Inspired by Pittsburgh Ballet dancers Joe & Diana, Victoria Fiaretti and a team of wonderful talents cultivated a vision of fine romance dripping with the every tender graces of the ballet this pair so stunningly performs. What resulted was a perfect dance between detail, splendor, and authentic love affair!

A word from stylist & planner, Victoria Fiaretti of Wood + Grace:

“Coinciding with the written work of Oriah’s ‘The Dance,’ we wanted to showcase the great anticipation for the traditionally known ‘First Dance’ in the eyes of two dancing artists. To them, the First Dance held much greater depth and meaning, symbolizing a new dance together as they entered into marriage. Diana and Joseph’s first dance was a metaphor for their commitment to each other in marriage – bearing the highs, lows, turns and dips that their new life together will hold and how they must lean into the strength of one another in grace, trust and loyalty. It was an honor to capture the true love felt in this day and witness the anticipation leading up to this beautiful and meaningful dance. I hope you enjoy the photos captured as we believe this unique and personal twist on a modern tradition will burst your heart with it’s honesty and simplicity. Their love speaks for itself.”

Love notes from the couple, Joe & Diana:

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

Diana: “We are both ballet dancers originally from Ohio and came to train at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. We came and got hired at different times in our lives. One day, Joe was working out at the studio and we bonded over his Browns team shorts. It mostly revolved around him being crazy to wear them in Pittsburgh! That was the beginning of a friendship that would turn into marriage!”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Joe: “I love Diana’s heart. She is kind to everyone she meets and cares deeply for her loved ones.”

Diana: “My favorite thing about Joe is that he is humble and genuinely kind. He is also my best friend and there’s no one I’d rather spend this journey with!”

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

Diana: “We always remind each other what is most important in life. What one of us may struggle with, the other one is usually strong. We help each other out when one of us is worrying too much about something. I’d say our biggest fault is carrying too much, which is the best problem to have!”

What is the most important thing in your marriage?

“Our faith in God was important to both of us before our marriage. Since our wedding, it has become even stronger since then. Each day we strive to bring out the best in each other for this life and for him. We’ve learned when it comes to love and God we can’t talk about one without talking about the other.”

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Diana: “As Joe and I are still young on this journey, the main thing we try to remember is that we are still learning. (and really maybe we always will be!) Love is patient. Love is kind. The reading could stop there!”

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?

“No matter where life takes you or what life throws at you, love is your home base. It’s what matters at the end of the day. In a life with so much uncertainty, we can always count on our love bonding us together. We may not have it all together but together we have it all!”
