A Watercolor-Inspired Savannah Wedding at Victory North

From the very beginning, Luke and Addison (Addie) knew they wanted their wedding to feel deeply personal — a reflection of their story and shared passions. Addie, a creative soul with a love for art, poured her heart into the details, designing a custom toile pattern that became one of the most sentimental elements of their day. The design included places and memories meaningful to them both — from the spot where they first met to Luke’s family farmland, a silhouette of their engagement, paintbrushes, and even the iconic UGA arches.

This watercolor motif flowed seamlessly into the paper goods, with Addie designing her very first invitation suite herself. The experience was so inspiring that she now hopes to expand her small business, Addie Shuman Studio, creating custom watercolor crests and invitations for others.

Their love for cooking and gathering around the table also shaped the day — the couple worked with Eden Supper Club to craft a menu that merged their favorite Southern and Italian flavors. Surrounded by light, airy florals in soft whites, blues, greens, and pinks, the atmosphere felt ethereal yet modern, mirroring Addie’s gentle aesthetic. Most importantly, every element pointed back to their shared faith — a joyful celebration of what God had brought together and the love that continues to guide their story.

“It was important to us that every detail pointed back to the blessings we’ve experienced and the love that brought us to that day.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

Luke and I met in college and were really great friends for two years before dating! He told me later that he had his eye on me from the day we met because he knew I was special. He asked me out several times, but I said no for a while because I didn’t want to risk our friendship. When I finally said yes, I knew it was forever. I already knew Luke was kind, loyal, and exactly the person I wanted to share my life with.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

It started pouring rain during our vows! The thunder was the loudest I’ve ever heard. We were standing under the arches at the church, so it actually became a very sweet and memorable moment. We’ve always loved the rain, so it made the day even more special.

What part of your wedding day was most important to you?

Luke and I place our faith first and foremost, so we wanted our wedding to be a reflection of that and a celebration of what God brought together. It was important to us that every detail pointed back to the blessings we’ve experienced and the love that carried us to that day.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

One of the best things we’ve learned from each other is to embrace our imperfections and let them bring us closer. Life is full of challenges, and being able to face them together — and still choose love at the end of the day — is everything. Even our wedding day had its own little imperfections, but it was still the best day of our lives, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

From the start, Luke and I wanted our wedding to tell our story through meaningful details. Being a creative person, I loved incorporating art throughout our design. My favorite detail was the custom toile I created, filled with illustrations of moments and places dear to us — where we met, where we got engaged, Luke’s family farm, and other special memories. That toile became the foundation for our watercolor-inspired invitation suite, which I designed myself for the first time. It was such a rewarding experience that I’m now growing my business, Addie Shuman Studio, to create custom watercolor crests and stationery for others.

When designing our own crest, I wanted it to reflect our Southern roots — combining Lowcountry charm with personal touches like live oak branches and even a subtle Vidalia onion at the base, symbolizing Luke’s family’s legacy of growing and selling them. All those small, heartfelt details made the day uniquely ours.
