Christine and Andrew had a stunning wedding (with not one, but two dogs of honor) on the Manhattan skyline at the Bordone. This couple radiated love and joy on this elegant wedding day. From love-filled getting ready photos with friends through to night time photos with the city, every moment of this day was full of joy and excitement. -Megan & Kenneth How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Andrew and I met in college when he transferred into my school. He happened to be in most of my classes that year including electives despite me choosing my classes months earlier. Funny thing is we actually met 1 year earlier, during my freshmen year of college, as he is a family friend to one of my friends at school. Our first meeting was actually at a bus stop outside the Student Union where we introduced ourselves and then went our separate ways. College Christine and Andrew would never have imagined that 11 years later, we would be married. What is your favorite thing about each other? Andrew: My favorite thing about Christine, she’s easygoing, generous, caring, and laughs at all my dumb jokes.
Christine: My favorite thing about Andrew, he takes care of me, makes me laugh, keeps me grounded and happy but most importantly he cooks for me. What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Favorite part of our wedding is being able to piece my vision together and eventually seeing it come to life. Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! Our venue, Bordone LIC, and caterer (Dish Foods) allowed our family dogs to stay for the ceremony and reception. My husband’s family has a 120lb alaskan malamute name Gooby and my family a standard goldendoodle name Mason. During cocktail hour, Gooby, in his doggy suit, decided to put on a show and jumped on one of the guests. Megan and Kenneth can probably show you a picture. Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning. We didn’t have many hurdles in our wedding planning process. because we hired a wedding planner. Our original wedding planner a family emergency but she was still amazing and seamlessly moved us to Lauren from The Get Together Events Co. I think at the end of the day, couples need to remember that their wedding day is a celebration of their union. They should do whatever they feel comfortable with. Family, friends and other guests are there to celebrate them. What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? Two things were important to us that day. It was really important for our family and friends to have a great time. In addition, alone time so something like the first look was important because it was one of the few times you’re alone with just each other and just soaking in all the good things happening that day. If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? To remember their wedding day is about celebrating their union so do what they want on their wedding day. I’ve heard many stories about families having so many opinions but at the end of the day everyone is there to celebrate them. At the end of the day, everyone is happy to be there with them. What is the most honest thing you can say about love? As cheesy as it sounds love is a journey. Marriage is only one chapter and together we will experience ups and downs. We need to remember to always choose each other; to love and appreciate each other; and to compromise and communicate with each other. “I didn’t fall in love with you. I walked into love with you, with my eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way. I do believe in fate and destiny, but I also believe we are only fated to do the things that we’d choose anyway. And I’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you” – Kierston White, Chaos of the Stars
