Today we hope you enjoy this beautiful wedding with a terracotta centered color palette and a rustic charm that feels warm and inviting. Hayley & Connor’s wedding was full of smiles and tears of joy as they celebrated the beginning of their wedding journey together!
This wedding showcases that one does not need to shy away from bold, rich tones to achieve an exquisite wedding day vision. Hayley and Connor are a joyous and cheerful couple and their celebration was a direct reflection of that with their terracotta-centered color scheme set in the charm and warmth of the historic Camarillo Ranch.
Hayley and Connor met on a social media app and within a year of dating, knew they were meant for each other. They described their connection as instantaneous and if you spend more than 5 minutes with the happy couple, you can feel the genuine love they share for one another. Connor proposed on the same beach they enjoyed one of their very first dates.
They loved the idea of a fall wedding with a romantic feel and bold tones. That vision was perfectly achieved with the selection of a terracotta color scheme at the historic Camarillo Ranch House. The bold tones paired with the charm and old-feel of Camarillo Ranch was a flawless combination for this cheerful and madly-in-love pair.
The Camarillo Ranch house is a Queen-Anne victorian style home built in 1892 that features lush gardens and quaint areas surrounding the home. Petals and Hare florist added to the already romantic feel of the grounds with beautiful and bold blush, terracotta, and brown hue arrangements throughout the wedding space, one of which was the couple’s unique and gorgeous moon-shaped grounded floral arch for the ceremony.
Hayley dazzled in her Allure Bridal gown that featured delicate spaghetti straps, a form fit flare, and delicate lace designs in the train. She looked like a vision for her ceremony entrance a delicate cut-edge floor length veil and her beauty could only be matched by her handsome groom in a classic Michael Kors suit. Concluding the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests enjoyed the reception in the house’s barn that was transformed into a work of art with the bold floral centerpieces and candlelight romance. Wedding guests also enjoyed a delicious surprise dessert provided by Sub Zero Ice Cream and danced the night away under the glow of the market-lights lined cozy barn. -Vivian Morrow Photography
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Well, in the midst of the COVID Pandemic, we met in a fashion that seems to be trendy in this day and age: dating apps, specifically Bumble! Funny enough, neither one of us ever expected or thought we would meet our future spouse online, and yet, here we are! In February of 2021, we matched with each other and connected immediately. And on our first date, Connor thought Hayley was absolutely gorgeous, and her bubbly personality made it easy to connect with her. Hayley loved Connor’s sweet smile and how much it made her want to smile too. It is still one of her favorite thing’s about him.
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? When it came to our wedding day, one of the most important things to us was writing our own vows to each other. It is such a small detail on a detail oriented day. But when we stood up there, looked at each other through teary eyes (happy tears, of course,) and read our hand written vows, there was a love that we had that could be felt by everyone. We loved doing that so much that on our honeymoon, we sat together as the sun set in Cancun, and read them to each other again. Through the years, we will always have those special words that came from the heart.
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! Before this fairytale love story truly took off, Connor asked Hayley for her phone number so that they could text instead of message on Bumble. Hayley was smitten, and sent him her phone number. Wanting to get to know her even more, Connor sent Hayley, a long text message full of questions about her. And he waited, and waited, and waited… to which there never was a reply. Hayley, on the other hand waited, and waited, and waited for a text from Connor that never came. Days went by until Hayley finally went back to the Bumble messages, wanting to know why Connor never texted. She got her answer really quickly when she realized she had mistyped one number and sent Connor the wrong phone number! Realizing her mistake, she immediately sent Connor a message with the right phone number this time. He replied, and well, the rest is history. While we laugh about it now, we also realize how close we were to never truly meeting.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? There was a day where our wedding venue had a “showcase” for all of the couples that were having their wedding there, where we had the ability to try all of the food from our caterer, see how the venue looked at night, and most importantly, got to envision how our wedding night would look. Of course the details would be different, but instead of envisioning our special day through pictures and videos, we truly got to see and feel what our wedding would feel like, and it did not disappoint.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? Our biggest advice to other couples actually deals with wedding planning. While we never had any major hurdles or big disasters as we planned our wedding, there were many times where we were stressed beyond belief. Between work, life, and everything in between, life was always busy and adding in wedding planning could create extra stress. We knew that this wasn’t just an issue that we had, but knew other couples dealt with it too. So as other couples embark on this wild ride, all we will say is to 1) make sure to dedicate time to each other. At the end of the day, the special love you have is the reason you’re getting married in the first place, and making sure that the love you share together is a priority will not only make your wedding day special, but will also make the wedding planning that much better. And, 2) things won’t be perfect, and that’s okay. We had so many little things happen during our wedding weekend that we had not planned for in the slightest. And yet, when we look back, we will never forget how special of a day we had celebrating the love we share. When you put that into focus, all of the little hiccups are meaningless, and that’s coming from experience.
What is the most honest thing you can say about love? The most honest thing we can say about love is when it is true, you know immediately. Call it fate, a feeling, when you meet a person that you are supposed to be with or meant to be with, you just know. We fell in love with one another so quickly, because we just knew. It sounds cliché, but is the most honest thing about our love story. We both knew right away that we had met our person, and there was no way we were going to let the other go. Because of that, we know our love can and will endure all things. From where we stand, true love is truly a feeling you have, and when it is true, nothing can take that away from you.
