Victor & Elaine’s Cliffside Engagement ...

Victor & Elaine’s Cliffside Engagement Session

Sunset. Coupled with a beautiful cliffside view that Victor & Elaine enjoyed while having their engagement photos taken. It’s a beautiful collage of muted tones, water, and pebbly beaches that sets the backdrop for capturing their love!

from the photographer: “It was the perfect sunset evening with Elaine & Victor! I wanted to capture the ethereal light and the elegant motion of their love, in a dreamy way. It was such a unique location, so I wanted to showcase it as much as possible to create an adventurous and romantic getaway style to their photos.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Victor and I (Elaine) met through mutual friends. We would have crossed paths a handful of times through our mutual connections; yet surprisingly it was not until years later at a NYE dinner that we officially met. Though normally more quiet and introverted, I spontaneously agreed to join Victor and his friends for a night on the town after dinner. I thought the charming fellow seemed honest and fun; “what did I have to lose?” and from then my love story began.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
After a little over a year of being engaged, I luckily came across a photographer’s IG page and shockingly won an engagement photoshoot! Since we’ve placed all wedding related events on hold, the photo session brought excitement back into thinking about wedding planning again. It even reflected the current era, as Victor grew out his hair (usually he gets a haircut every couple months). Humorously, some friends weren’t able to recognize him with his new style. But most of all, we were grateful for this pleasant gift of captured memories.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
A few years later from the day we met on NYE, Victor proposed. We undoubtedly agreed on a destination wedding to celebrate. However, due to the pandemic, all wedding celebrations were postponed. We both come from large families and anticipated to share this moment with them all, along with our friends; however, we understand that future weddings may be celebrated differently and to remain patient.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
As 2021 progresses, we desire to show our respect and gratitude to our parents and elders in our families and wed with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. We find it most important to share this meaningful tradition with our parents in person.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
Our wedding plans remain pending as we determine when and how to safely celebrate; but through it all, our story of “Victor and Elaine” is about our valued connections of family and friends, patience, and sharing experiences.
