This couple chose a vibrant, garden-like wedding look that will make all your bold color floral dreams come true! Lindy and Chris chose to keep the over all design simple and modern but brought in daring florals to add a warm and inviting feel to the day.
Lindy and Chris first met in 2011, on a double date when they were students at the University of Texas. Fast forward 6 years, when the two met again on St. Patrick’s Day in San Francisco. That second chance meeting turned into love, and the next thing they knew, they were engaged.
Lindy is a talented artist and designed the paper and invitation suite herself. She wanted it to be clean and modern, but with a pop of bold color to tie into her flowers. Lindy added her handmade details with the impressive seating chart, which had an envelope for each guest with their table. Instead of round tables, they chose to do long all-fresco-style seating, which was beautiful under the greenery and cafe-lit tent. Lindy chose a classic gown with a modern twist. Her silk mikado gown by Carolina Herrera had a classic trumpet shape, with a modern neckline and off the shoulder cuff. Buttons carried down into the train, which was complemented with a cathedral veil, dotted with pearls. The pops of bold colors were a fresh compliment to their garden venue! Their florist, Earl Grey Floral, chose hues to red, orange, marigold, blush, and soft lavender. It created a unique palette that had so much texture! – Julie Wilhite Photography
From the planner, Kali: The couple knew they wanted a wedding in Austin, close to family. When it came to the design, the keywords Lindy and her planner, kept in mind were “vibrant, bold, moody, garden-like, and texture”. Throughout the process, Lindy always said “I don’t feel like I know what my colors are!” So often, couples have a “color scheme” when planning their wedding. I loved that Lindy didn’t want to take that approach with her design. Everything we did was centered around the feel and aesthetic we were wanting to create as opposed to a specific color palette we were trying to stay within! I love where we landed with everything! It came together so perfectly!
