Iconic Charleston with a lovely couple who is expecting their first baby! The city made for a beautiful and classic look to celebrate this one-time moment!
from the photographer: “Charleston is this couple’s favorite destination! Taylor (soon-to-be mom) wanted to hit all of her favorite spots in downtown Charleston! We started and ended with the classic Mills House, made our way to some stunning locations on Rainbow Row, and stopped by the historic St. Michael’s Church! Charleston is full of amazing spots and you never know when you might get a surprise horse and carriage image added to your gallery!”
What’s your favorite family pastime together?
Our favorite family pastime together has to be chill nights at home, grilling out and enjoying a good movie on the couch! We just love being together and hanging out. Our best date nights are usually always at home.
Any lessons you learned as a family through the last year?
Specifically through the last year as we get ready to welcome our girl, we have learned to give each other a lot of grace. Preparing for a baby is unlike anything we have ever done before. Giving each other grace when we fall short or feel like we have disappointed the other has helped us through this past season.
Tell us a fun or silly story that happened to your family recently!
Something fun (if anyone could call it that) has happened recently is we broke ground on the house we are building! Even though it will not be done before baby arrives, it is still super exciting to see our vision come to life for our forever home. Designing and choosing all of the different aspects of our home has been more fun than we thought it would be!
What does family mean to you?
Family means everything to us. We will always choose to be with family no matter what. We often grill out together, go to church together, vacation together… I think you get the idea. We cherish the moments that we have with our family because we love having those connections.
What have you recently done to put family as a major focus in your life?
We prioritize eating out or eating in together as a whole family ( us plus parents/extended) at least once a week. We find that it helps us bring everyone together and allows us to focus on family rather than only catching up with each other on random occasions. When it comes to just Ryan and me, we always prioritize time together as much as we can during the week since our lives are so busy. We spend every night (or almost every night) eating dinner together and being intentional about our conversations with each other.
What are the best things you’ve learned from each other?
To always give grace. Even though we have been married for four years, it is important to remember that we are both human and sometimes we make mistakes.
If you had one piece of advice for other families, what would it be?
Cherish the moments because they are fleeting. Give grace even when it seems impossible. Love one another through the good and the bad.
