Taisia & Gabriel’s Santorini Wedding with Beautiful Skies

We can’t get over this little adventure that Taisia and Gabriel created for themselves and their wedding celebration. Having a few days to just relax and celebrate your wedding with some amazing photos, especially in such a beautiful spot as Santorini is such a great idea!

from the photographer: “Here I am, still amazed and dreaming at the incredible destination wedding in Greece of Taisia & Gabriel! I was so happy when they contacted us and asked for us to be their wedding photographer (me) and the wedding videographer ( my partner)! It is truly an honour! Planning a destination wedding is challenging but definitely worth every penny & time investment! The memories created have no match because everything is personalised after the couple needs and pleasure! One thing I can tell you, my dear future Brides & Groom! The wedding experience you are offering to your loved ones, family and friends it is truly unique! A wedding that will always be remembered and cherished! Taisia and Gabriel choose to have their religious ceremony at the Romanian orthodox church in Port Herochiani, Cretê! It is such a beautiful church and so close to the port! We loved having the group photographs and a representative photograph of the coolest couple! The architecture of the church is 100% greek! We have celebrated the first few days is a luxurious villa formation in … I will highly recommend going there and spent a few days just enjoying the quiet area, seeing the mountains on your left and the seaside on your right! I will say this beautiful location has the biggest and dense olive trees orchards! After the religious celebration had ended a part of the close group went back home and the rest of us (8 persons) took the ferry to the most unique Island formations of Santorini! I can say that I am in love and forever grateful for the memories we have created at the destination after the wedding photoshoot in this beautiful place! We have rested our hearts and heads at Santorini Traditional Suites and we have travelled everywhere we could around Oia, Ammoúdi, ports, beaches etc I can say that we had moments where we just enjoyed what we saw in front of our eyes! Although everything was just overwhelming us the joy we felt was with unprecedented!”

How did you meet?
It was a funny story. We met when my best friend hit Gabriel’s car in the parking lot. My friend was too nervous and scared to talk so she sent me to solve the problem and explain what happened. I was 18 years old back then. I went to college in a different city and we’ve reconnected after almost 9 years, in 2017, when we both lived in Bucharest and we’ve been together ever since.

What is your proposal story?
Gabriel surprised me with a “birthday gift” – a trip to Dubai with my best friends in order for us to skydive together with the coolest view. He jumped first from the airplane and waited for me on one knee with a huge banner, many emotions and a ring! It was the perfect proposal for me because it had everything: adrenaline, romance, emotions and, obviously, love!

We knew we wanted a small religious ceremony and Greece was the perfect place since we wanted an Orthodox Church on a beautiful island. We believe Greece has it all: breathtaking views, beautiful sea, delicious food and welcoming people. As a plus, it’s close to our home country, Romania.

Crete was our chosen island for the religious ceremony and Santorini for our after wedding photo shooting and honeymoon.

On the day, we woke up in a beautiful pool villa near Kournas Lake with our family and closest friends. We had a beautiful religious ceremony in small church near Heraklion Port and took a sailing boat to celebrate with our loved ones.

We chose white, light blue & gold for the color scheme because we’ve wanted to keep it as Greek as possible. We’ve “forced” our guests to wear all white outfits and we’ve spiced things up with light blue details.

I wore two perfect dresses and I am still in love with them. On the day, a white Rhea Costa Bridal dress and a light blue one from Privato Dress for the after shoot in Santorini with the Casa Dei Light Blue Stiletto Sandals. Gabriel wore a Personal Tailor dusty blue jacket and white pants.

What was the most important to you when planning?
To be honest, everything was important since it had to be the most magical day for us. We also wanted to create a beautiful experience for our guests since they were our closest family members and friends. We’ve only skipped booking a restaurant for the party, but instead we chose to hop on a sailing boat after the religious ceremony to celebrate and finished the night with a beautiful dinner at the private villa where we’ve stayed.

Favorite part of the day?
The most beautiful memory I have it’s from the religious ceremony itself because it had a great meaning for us. Saying Yes in front of God was incredibly emotional and having our family and friends by our side made everything even more special. We’ve gathered our favourite persons from multiple countries and cities, even though the pandemic tried to mess with our plans.

Tell us about any special details.
I’ve decided to take my wedding bouquet from my favourite vendor in Romania and it was delivered by my sister in law in the night before the wedding. This way I was sure it will be exactly how I’ve wanted. For the dinner decor and the ceremony candles, we’ve picked some olive branches from the garden, added light blue ribbon and improvised.

I brought some simple white candles for the religious ceremony from home and decorated them in Greece with olive branches from the garden of the villa where we’ve stayed and a delicate light blue ribbon.

Our wedding invitations, name cards and RSPVs were hand painted by our dear friend Raluca from Charmink Calligraphy.

Any advice for couples planning now?
I guess I would like to say that they will remember that day for the rest of their life and it might as well be the most amazing one. I recommend choosing a place dear to your heart and I promise you will make it work even though it may feel harder at times!
