Today we are sharing a stunning parisian influenced wedding editorial, inspired by the Paris lock bridge. The design was brought to life so beautifully featuring details that gave a slightly old world feel to the day and a soft color palette with pops of bold color. A perfect blend of timeless crossed with modern elements, truly a masterpiece!
A note from Madison, the planner: This modern Parisian styled shoot was soon tiled ‘enfermé dans l’amour’ which translates to “locked in love”. This was inspired by the lock bridge in Paris. The ‘lock bridge’ is a tradition in Paris on the bridges of the Seine River. Couples write their names on padlocks, lock it on the bridge and throw the keys into the river, symbolizing love locked forever. The soft color pallet highlighted the new beginnings of spring which mimics the sweet beginnings of a new marriage. We were able to incorporate subtle nods to the Parisian inspiration in achievable ways for modern weddings. The seating chart is a creative way every couple can curate something that reflects them as a couple and their wedding design. Our seating chart was directly inspired by the lock bridge using a black metal grid, gold locks with keys, and handwritten calligraphy scrolls with the guest’s names. We really leaned into the architecture and long history of Paris by using cinder blocks. The feeling of rough ruins and something beautiful growing from it meshed so well with the enfermé dans l’amour feel for the shoot. A marble element was intertwined throughout with the seating chart and individual name cards at each place setting. The seating chart included a custom marble sign with ‘enfermé dans l’amour’ atop giving another nod to the theme.
This shoot shows deeply curated and obtainable elements couples can include in their weddings today such as the vintage car, historic design of The Bradford, luxurious floral design, goddess-like flow of the custom wedding dress with a cape, individual charcuterie boards engraved with ‘enfermé dans l’amour‘, engraved marble name cards, color matched macaron tower, hand written invitation suite and champagne tower. Each element was a thorough detailed selection or creation to really bring the modern Parisian theme to life.
I really wanted this inspiration shoot to feel timeless while also incorporating modern elements that are trending right now. To achieve this feeling, I photographed most of the day on film. -Amanda, the photographer
