We love that Nancy & Lance did a fancy anniversary session in their wedding outfits! What a fun want to remember and celebrate together!
from the photographer: “This beautiful session took place in the iconic Balboa Park in San Diego. Nancy and Lance married in 2019 and hired me to capture portraits of them in their wedding attire with a light and airy film aesthetic. I could think of no better place than the Balboa Park Rose Garden to deliver beautiful tones and scenery for their session.”
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met each other at our first part time job, which was at Target! Nancy worked on the sales floor while I worked in the backroom where the inventory was kept. We met during our shift and crossed paths in the backroom. She was with a mutual friend in the back grabbing items to stock the sales floor. I decided to approach her and the mutual friend and attempted to have small talk with Nancy. However no spark was ignited…yet haha.
My first impression of Lance was that he seemed “alright”. Apparently this is a common term that I use according to Lance, to describe people who I have no intention to get to know. Sorry Lance!
My first first impression of Nancy was that she seemed like a nice person to maybe get to know! But I couldn’t look past her braces at the time, no offense Nancy !!!
What is your favorite thing about each other?
My favorite thing about Nancy is how generous she is. She is always giving to her family, friends and myself. Nancy is willing to help any way that she can and no matter the given task, she always gives her best effort into making sure it is done and that it is done properly.
My favorite thing about Lance is how patient he is. Lance has always had patience with me and with others, like family and friends. With his patience, he is able to stay calm, cool and listen. It’s my favorite trait of him because his patience helped me get through many upsetting times.
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
I believe the best thing I learned from Nancy is that its okay to express my emotions to others. In a way, for me to express my feelings to Nancy has made me comfortable in speaking my feelings and thoughts on situations to others.
The best thing I have learned from Lance is to not take life so seriously sometimes. He has shown me that its okay to be silly and not take somethings personally or serious. I believe because of this trait it allowed me to unwind and be myself.
What is the most important thing in your marriage?
Nancy and I believe that the most important thing in our marriage is communication. We believe that most fights or at least ours, is all through miscommunication. Once we are on the same page, everything turns out fine. We believe that because of this important trait, we have learned so much about ourselves, each other and us as husband and wife.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Always remember you guys are on the same team! We believe that couples tend to forget this concept. When arguments happen, its easy to point fingers and place blame on each other. When in reality, if we come to realize that we are on the same team and hear each other out, not only is it amazing to see how much you grow as an individual but also as a couple.
