“As a way to celebrate their daughter turning one, Jon and Janessa asked me to do a family session. We found ourselves on top of Mary’s Peak in Oregon and were delighted to be greeted with beautiful weather, wildflowers and a nice breeze. We had so much fun exploring the hillside and watching little Audrey take in all the sights and sounds. Of course we had to celebrate with some balloons and strawberries.” – Amanda Meg Photography

What were some of your favorite family memories from 2020?
“2020 highlights are similar to most years but this year they just meant so much more. Audrey was old enough this year to understand Christmas and got over-the-moon excited about lights and songs. We made progress towards building our forever home and now just wait for permission from the county to start the process. We were able to celebrate a milestone birthday for my mom with a huge surprise. My career goals took a big lateral (yet exciting) swing and Jon has put in more hours than ever (he is a nurse). We are grateful for our health, family and friends.”

How did you find this past year affected you?
“Working from home with a toddler has been a challenge to be sure, but I have learned how to be more flexible with my day. On a positive note, we have spent so much more time together as a family and that has been amazing.”

Any lessons learned as a family recently?
“As a family we have learned that we each have our own way of doing things and while schedule and routine are good, being flexible and having grace for each other helps tremendously.”

Whats your favorite thing to do as a family?
“As a family our favorite things is to snuggle in bed and read books or (weather permitting) run around outside. Literally. Just chasing each other. Audrey finds it hilarious. We also love hanging with my parents (they live next door) and watching University of Oregon Sporting events on tv (when we can – covid permitting).”
