Josh & Olivia took their day to elevated new heights with this classic and timeless take on an outdoor wedding celebration. Their Illinois wedding took place at Ashton Hill Farm and was elegant and romantic with beautiful muted colors and lovely details. The touch of elegance combined perfectly with moments of candid and fun laughter with their special people by their side!
from the photographer: “Josh and Olivia were married on a sunny summer day in Galena, Illinois at Ashton Hill Farm. Their day was very romantic with an air of elegance. Olivia is an Opera Performance student, so their wedding style was perfectly fitting for her. Florals were a big part of their design. The greenery draping from the chandeliers gave the reception a garden feel.
Josh and Olivia first crossed paths at The University of Illinois School of Music. The attraction was instant and simultaneous. They would both sneak glances at each other in class until Olivia finally mustered up the courage to talk to Josh. Admittedly, awkwardly yelling at him across the hall to get his attention. Their study lessons quickly turned into dates and Josh asked Olivia out four weeks later. Fast forward five years later when Josh proposed to Olivia through a love letter, the best of many he had written to his soon-to-be bride over the course of their relationship.
The couple got married on a sunny summer day in Galena, Illinois at Ashton Hill Farm. Their vibe was soft and romantic with an air of elegance. Olivia is an Opera Performance student, so their wedding style was perfectly fitting for her. From her chic, classic dress to the understated elegance of the reception. Florals were a big part of their design and River Valley Designs knocked it out of the park. Their outdoor ceremony featured a sweet floral arch and greenery lined aisle, and that same ambiance was brought indoors with greenery draping from the chandeliers.
Guests sipped and noshed on cuisine from Fried Green Tomatoes and cake from Take the Cake Desserts while keeping the dancefloor full thanks to Center Stage Productions. A great time was certainly had by all, but notably, their photographer shares, “You could tell they both really enjoyed being in each other’s presence all day and truly enjoyed every moment of it. I loved taking them away for a tiny bit to get some portraits after the ceremony and again later to get a few photos at sunset. They were so relaxed and soaked in the time together. I barely had to direct them – that’s how much they were enjoying that time together!”
