Jessica & Matt’s Romantic Garden Wedding at Bernardus Lodge

Set in a lush California garden, Jessica and Matt’s wedding unfolded like a quiet love letter to nature and design. A palette of soft blues, creams, and sage green created an atmosphere that felt both timeless and ethereal, perfectly complementing the surrounding landscape. From the very beginning, their vision leaned into organic beauty and effortless romance—nothing overdone, everything intentional.

Jessica’s Sareh Nouri “Take My Hand” gown served as the design anchor for the day. Paired with a high-neck bolero featuring intricate laser-cut leaf details, the look inspired a cohesive motif woven throughout the celebration. Vine-etched stationery, sculptural florals, and a delicately crafted cake echoed the gown’s organic elements, creating a wedding day that felt airy, elegant, and deeply personal.

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met through mutual friends during a night out at a bar in San Francisco, and we immediately hit it off. By the end of the evening, Matt had my number and already asked me out for the following week. I was instantly drawn to his confidence and outgoing personality—he didn’t play games and made a consistent effort from the very beginning. His clarity and enthusiasm made everything feel easy and exciting.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
Family was incredibly important to both of us, especially since we are each the oldest of four siblings. My two sisters served as co-maids of honor and gave unforgettable speeches, while my brother officiated our ceremony, making it deeply personal. On Matt’s side, his sisters each gave readings during the ceremony, and his brother served as best man, delivering a memorable toast. Having our siblings involved in such meaningful ways made the day feel intimate and full of love.

What part of your wedding day was most important to you?
Our ceremony was incredibly special, particularly having my brother officiate and sharing custom vows. But once the reception began, the dance floor truly became the heart of the celebration. Creating an unforgettable guest experience was our top priority, and the energy of the music and dancing brought everyone together in the most joyful way. Our band was such a hit that it became the most talked-about part of the entire weekend.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
From Matt, I’ve learned the power of positive manifestation and unwavering focus. He has an incredible ability to set ambitious goals and pursue them with dedication, whether in his career, health, or our life together. Watching him stay committed to his vision has inspired me to approach my own goals with more intention and confidence.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
My favorite thing about Matt is his infectious joy and enthusiasm for life. He enters every space with a huge, genuine smile that instantly lifts the mood. That happiness makes even ordinary moments feel special, and it’s impossible not to be drawn to his energy.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
We’d encourage couples to find ways to make wedding planning fun and treat it like a shared experience rather than a source of stress. We intentionally turned planning sessions into dates—starting with coffee or wine before tackling decisions together. That simple ritual helped keep everything grounded in connection and reminded us that the process was about us, not just the event.
