How did you meet?
We met back in 2016 on Social Media. After a few messages exchanged, we went on our first date and we have been together since.

What is your proposal story?
We were vacationing on beach in Cozumel, Mexico. After a long day of relaxing by the beach, Eric took me out by the water and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
When I thought of having a southern belle wedding, Charleston came right to my mind. I wanted blush color accents along with bright pinks, orange and yellows. We had a quaint wedding with family so I wanted the details to be perfect. Since we got married at such a beautiful garden, we were able to use it as our decorations.

Tell us about your attire choices.
My dress was a champagne a-line dress. It had three layers. The bottom layer was champagne, the middle glitter and jewels with the last layer of tulle. This dress was perfect for my venue. It fit like a glove.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
For us, this was a destination wedding. We wanted simplicity. We decided to skip the reception at our wedding venue. Instead we opted to have our reception at a restaurant. This cut down on cost of linens, tables and a caterers. Also, people were able to order whatever food they wanted. The photographer was my splurge. Photos will last forever where as all the decorations at your wedding won’t.

Tell us about your wedding cake.
Due to a gluten allergy, I had a gluten free cake made. The cake featured flowers from my wedding bouquet on top. The cake was vanilla with American Buttercream icing. No one at the reception could tell it was gluten free which was my main concern.

What did you do for favors?
Our cake was a gluten free vanilla cake with American butter cream icing.

What were your favorite parts of the day?
Because our wedding was so simple, we were able to enjoy the time spent with family.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.
My flowers were pinks, greens with orange accents. The florals included, Hot pink peonies, Free spirit garden roses, (Orange) pink ranunculus, pink Dahlias, eucalyptus and lemon leaf foliage.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Make the day about you. You can get caught up in the planning and stress of the day. All the time spent planning, you want to be able to enjoy the day.
