In life and love, you’ll find that predictabilities are a sure rarity. No one truly knows where life can take them: a pair of wet pants can lead to a great story, some forgotten suits can change the look of a wedding (for the better!) — you can even get dumped by your soulmate… but end-to-end it all amounts to a crazy beautiful adventure. And one of the truest paths to a great life is to simply embrace it, particularly the parts that come with a few rain clouds.
Our next couple was faced with some characteristically inclement English weather which threatened their London engagement session with photographer Madara Kurtisa. Yet, instead of a schedule change or cancellation, they chose to call an audible and invite their love to live indoors for the day. What followed was a sweetly intimate window into their daily lives, an unexpected bliss brought on by an otherwise dreary day!
A word from photographer, Madara Kurtisa:
“It was day before the date we planned to meet for engagement session at the park but unpredictable English weather did not look very promising on that day, and in the end we decided I should come to this lovely couple’s home and capture some relaxed photographs. They wanted something that felt true to them and their relationship, and the growth they had experienced throughout their journey together.
We spoke of their hobbies, passion to enjoy each other company, love of dance, art and music and enjoying wine on Friday evenings — even their moving plans to another lovely place where they will spend a lot of beautiful years together. Their home here in London has such charm and is really a reflection of the experiences they have shared while being together.
I wanted natural and relaxed photos that captured emotions and their passion for each other. I wanted them to be honest, fun, and natural through the experience, and this intimate home session was the perfect rainy day escape!”
