Nestled in the heart of Utah, this engagement in Canyonlands is stunning. The location provides a beguiling canvas for capturing love amidst vast landscapes and dramatic sunsets. This remarkable setting proved to be the perfect stage for Olivia and Jackson’s vibrant love story, symbolizing their new beginning and showcasing the beauty that awaits as they start this exciting chapter together!
Here’s an engagement photo session of Olivia and Jackson, one of the wildest and most fun couples I have worked with. These humans are bursting with love and joy both – for each other and life. And creating and holding space for them felt incredible.
We took these images in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. It’s a breathtaking place that can sometimes feel overpowering or intimidating with its vast landscape and dramatic sunsets but it was an absolutely perfect place for these two. It really felt like they’ve just embarked on a new journey, and started a new chapter with this engagement. And I hope you can feel it in these images! -Marta Mannuzza How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? The two of us met through a mutual friend at a sports bar in downtown SLC. When I first saw Jackson walk up to the bar I thought to myself “oh nooo, what do we have here” He was charming, handsome, and just happy to be there! I knew it was going to be an interesting night from the moment he walked up to me. What I thought was going to be an early night turned out to be one of the best nights of my life. After he bought me that first drink we spent the entire night together and have been in each other’s lives ever since!
I met Olivia after a long day tailgating the University of Utah football game. Me and a couple of friends decided to head downtown after the game. My coworker messaged me to come say “Hi” to him at a bar and I obliged. When I came into the bar I immediately noticed his friend Olivia sitting next to him. Olivia and I instantly clicked and I knew immediately that she was going to be my person. One of our favorite stories is that I told her “I’m going to marry you, you just don’t know it ” within 5 hours of meeting.
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! well…… 8 days after Jackson and I met he moved to Miami, Florida. I kind of thought that was going to be the end of our little romance. Turns out, we spent every one of those 8 days together before he left, he bought me a plane ticket and I visited him in Florida! I was shocked that I got on that plane after only knowing this guy for 8 days, buttttt I did and it will always be one of our favorite memories together. What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another? The best thing I have learned from Jackson is to live like there’s no tomorrow. Jackson always knows how to have fun and how to celebrate the little things in life. There is never a dull moment with him. We truly have the most fun with each other. Each day is just another day where we get to spend it with our best friend, laughing, being silly and honestly just living like its our last.
One thing I have learned from Olivia is the importance of compromise in a relationship. She has taught me that it is crucial to find middle ground and work through disagreements together. Another valuable lesson I have learned from my fiancée is the significance of open and honest communication. She has taught me that expressing our thoughts & needs, openly fosters understanding.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? We both have always been really big on open communication and vulnerability. We trust that each other will always communicate what is on their mind and have the vulnerability to share things even if it is a tough conversation. We have learned that no matter what it is, we will get through it with open communication and love for one another. Photographer: Marta Mannuzza
