There is little less perfection than love celebrated in the warmth of a bright and blessed day! Some magic of the radiant sort seems to glint over every surface and I, for one, have trouble detecting if its golden glean belongs to the sun or else to the love of a truly blissful pair of soulmates. A beautiful mixture of both, perhaps!
White Wren Collaborative member Kelly Hornberger had the unimaginable honor of photographing today’s gorgeous nuptials! Taylor and Sarah were wed at the stunning Villa Antonia, nestled in the rolling paradise of Texas hill country. It was a day filled with dripping florals, timeless facades, purest joy, and some truly fantastic dancing shoes — but their day’s greatest worth can be found in their sweet glances and palpable affections. Those, my dear, are pure alchemy!
Love notes from the couple, Taylor & Sarah:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Sarah: “Taylor and I met through two of our very best friends. When we met, we were living in different cities at the time and while I was attracted to him, I never thought we would date seriously. After a couple months of talking on the phone, Taylor flew to visit me and we’ve been together ever since.”
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Sarah: “One of my favorite things about Taylor is the way he loves people. Taylor has a special way of meeting people where they’re at and making them feel understood and special.”
Taylor: “I love how driven Sarah is when she puts her mind to something. She is her toughest critic, and chases after a goal until she accomplishes it. As long as I’ve known her I’ve been impressed by her internal work ethic, and as a result it drives me to match her. I also admire how well she loves those around her. She cares deeply for those in pain or struggle, and is consistently asking what can she be doing to lend a hand or how to pray for them.”
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
Sarah: “Taylor and I were only engaged for seven months so wedding planning seems like an absolute blur sometimes. I really enjoyed working with my florist/decorator because I felt like she gave life to my vision. I couldn’t wait to see the final product and it was even more beautiful than I imagined. I wished my bridal bouquet would last forever!”
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day!
Sarah: “Most aspects of the wedding day had plenty of rehearsing to make the evening as seamless as possible. Practicing cutting the cake never crossed my mind, and if it had, we wouldn’t have rehearsed it anyway because how hard could it truly be? Now a little more experienced, I can say it’s harder than it looks. I imagined cutting a perfectly triangular cake slice with Taylor’s hand over mine just like every other picture I’d seen. We must have cut too deeply into the bottom layer because as we were pulling our crumbled slice out, the top layers began to topple. Luckily, all the layers were salvageable and we have some fun candids to show for it!”
What part of your wedding day was most important to you?
Sarah: “When I think back to our wedding day, my brightest memory is walking out the chapel with Taylor and seeing how many friends and family support our marriage. It was an overwhelming view that still gives me chills. It was important to Taylor and I to have a large wedding and celebrate with everyone close to us. I am constantly reminded that we are not alone in our walk through life and am truly comforted in knowing we have the greatest support system.”
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
Sarah: “Throughout our relationship, we’ve learned that we make a really great team. We know with absolute confidence that we can lean on each other and hold one another accountable. We have established an unwavering trust that really empowers the other to chase dreams and set goals.”
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Sarah: “Our best advice would be to always keep dating each other. Taylor and I are always conscious to plan dates to spend uninterrupted, quality time together. Now that we’re married and see each other daily, it might not seem as necessary to plan time with one another. Some of my favorite memories post-marriage have come from dates we’ve been on together!”
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Sarah: “In the short time Taylor and I have been married, I am sure that love is ever changing. I am confident that I am more in love with him now than when we got engaged and even when we got married. As we continue to grow as individuals and as a couple, our love evolves as well. Our love makes me hopeful for what’s to come!”
