Remember Daniel & Elaine? We featured their cherry blossom engagement session a few months ago and guess what – now they are married! Photographer Asher Gardner was kind enough to send over their wedding photos, and we loved getting to check back in with them and see what their favorite part of wedding planning was, and to see the special day these two pulled off!
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met in the Calculus Class during college. Daniel always sat behind me and I had never noticed him until he picked up my wipeout tape for me around the end of the spring semester. I was very shy and I didn’t have a strong impression of him honestly, but I will never forget the moment we looked at each other on that day.
The very first impression of Elaine is her fashionable and elegant outfit. Besides, I’m attracted by her kindness and thoughtfulness when I first talked to her.
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
After we started dating, we spent hours talking on the phone before sleeping. Cell phone was quite new at that time and as always our parents were paying the fee every month so we didn’t know how much it really was. Right after our parents received the bill, everyone was shocked since it was a $250 bill!! We quickly changed to a supplier that provided unlimited minutes on talking. We are glad that we still talk a lot even after ten years of being together!
What is your favorite thing about each other?
For me, I love Daniel always full of ideas, no matter in life or at work. I am often inspired by him and I will never feel bored when being with him.
I love Elaine’s smile. No matter what circumstances, I can really feel the warmness from her smile, then I am suddenly melted. Her smile always encourages me and brightens the darkest corner of my heart.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
The most important part was that we almost made every decision together. From selecting my gown to his tuxedo, from choosing the location to the photographer. We also made the decoration of the wedding by ourselves, including the invitations. From the beginning, we decided that we don’t want a wedding planner and we would like to plan everything by ourselves. During those days, we shopped materials, discussed ideas, drew sketches. We even bought a laser cutter machine. We worked nonstop during the weekend, and our apartment was like a factory. I am so grateful that Daniel had never complained and just supported me to design our wedding. Although the wedding still had some imperfection, sharing all the hard time and good time during the process makes our relationship stronger, seeing and making the “dream” come true together is the most memorable thing.
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
It is the most magical and luckiest thing in the world that there is a person who makes you feel so satisfied when you see him/her smile.
