How They Met
Aggeliki and Kyriakos worked in the same translation company and the bride required Kyriakos’ help for a project and… the rest is history! After a whirlwind year of co-workers’ nights out, the pair became inseparable, working, living, hanging out, doing sports and hobbies together. Living together in Aggeliki’s tiny apartment, the couple created many happy and special memories together.
The Excelsior Hotel is a five-star luxury hotel in the very heart of Thessaloniki, offering an elegant and luxurious space that is rich in history. Renowned as one of the most Instagrammable locations in the town, it really was the perfect setting for Aggeliki and Kyriakos’ engagement shoot. They also spent their engagement shoot at Charlie Brasserie, a French-inspired bistro that is just a stone’s throw from the hotel.
True romantics at heart, we wanted the shoot to really tell the story of their love for one another. We started the day at one of the suites of The Excelsior Hotel to document a number of pictures in a classic setting, before heading to the bistro for a more relaxed, effortlessly luxurious vibe. An espresso following by a glass of champagne can only lead to a romantic proposal!
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
Organizing a destination wedding during Covid can be challenging…. especially when covid restrictions change from day to day. Fortunately, everything went as planned with no surprises and we had the night of our life.
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
We had an amazing 3-day-trip to the beautiful island of Lefkada with our friends and family and it felt like holidays with all our people. The wedding day was the highlight, with the moment of us entering Villa Veneziano happy and ready to party with our people being just magic!
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
We’ve learned that true love and fairytales really exist! You just need to be a little patient to find the one, your destiny!
What is your favorite thing about each other?
We can be serious and spontaneous at the same time. The one is always an influence and a motivation for the other.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
Planning your wedding creates an excitement and curiosity to see the final result of all the cautiously selected decorations, ideas etc. Our favourite part was when we were finally able to see the final outcome, being even better of what we could have imagined.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Do not mind what other people will say or what other people will like. Plan your wedding as you have imagined. Do your thing and enjoy your day, cause this is YOUR DAY!
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Love is the strongest feeling one can feel; a feeling that can change you and make you a better person.
