A Timeless Spring Wedding at The Carnegie in Newport, Kentucky

Josh and Savannah’s wedding day was a heartfelt celebration of faith, family, and timeless style. Hosted at the historic Carnegie Hall in Newport, Kentucky, their spring celebration carried all the charm of Southern romance while weaving in meaningful details that honored their story. From soft florals and classic stationery to emotional moments with family, the day unfolded as both elegant and deeply personal.

“Meeting Josh and falling in love made me truly understand that this is what love is.” – Savannah

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

We met in Nashville, Tennessee at a joint bachelor/bachelorette party for two of our respective friends! They had partnered us together for their wedding party and it was a weekend for everyone to meet and celebrate.

Savannah: I was excited to meet Josh prior to the weekend, but actually meeting him was better than expected. One of my first thoughts was how he looked better in person than the one picture I had previously seen of him (lol). We instantly clicked, easily conversed, and kept being drawn to one another. I knew quickly that I was intrigued and wanted to continue getting to know him.

Josh: When I showed up Savannah was the first thing I noticed in the Airbnb. I was immediately taken aback and was drawn to her. After we talked I just knew she was the one for me and I was blown away how easy it was to talk to her.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

Savannah: Looking back now, something funny from our wedding day was how emotional I became the morning of. I was unexpectedly sobbing when our day-of hostess let me know that Josh and the groomsmen had arrived at the venue. It was so hard not seeing each other that morning and all the emotions spilled over at once. I just cried and asked her if she could please just let Josh know I loved him. She delivered the message and helped dry my tears too. Thank you Julie! šŸ™‚

Josh: I think one of the funniest things that happened during our relationship is acting like middle schoolers after we first met. We were both so excited and nervous and awkward during that period until we reconnected and saw each other again.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

A hurdle we have had to overcome during our relationship is distance. Our first few months of dating were long distance and Josh is also in the military and is required to travel. In the past 10 months, Josh has been required to travel three different times and unfortunately has missed some birthdays and special moments.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

Josh: We had several family members either make a speech or be a part of our ceremony readings. One of the most impactful was watching Savannah dance with her grandpa. He played a big part in raising her and watching her do a surprise dance with him brought a lot of tears.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

The most important parts of our wedding day were the ceremony itself and making sure the day was fun and enjoyable, with the least amount of stress as possible! A sacramental marriage was essential to us and DelightMore events played a huge role in making sure our special day was as stress-free as possible.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

Savannah: Most importantly, I think Josh has taught me how to unconditionally love. Honorable mentions though for also teaching me how to forgive, and how to be less stubborn.

Josh: Savannah has taught me so many things and the biggest one is transparency. Being upfront and honest about how we feel and how we perceive things has helped the both of us understand so much about each other and what we are going through.

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Savannah: My favorite thing about Josh is how he loves and protects his family and loved ones. He is kind, patient, helpful, nurturing, and all around someone you want in your corner.

Josh: My favorite thing about Savannah is how spontaneous she is. No matter what day it is we can always find something fun to do together.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

Savannah: All of it! I secretly love planning, details, and organization. It was definitely a stressful process but cake tasting, choosing colors, florals, and random decor pieces were my favorite. Our amazing vendors truly made our vision come to life!

Josh: My favorite part was watching Savannah plan the wedding she always dreamed of. All the small details she thought of that I would never think about, how all the colors, details and arrangements would work together. It was really cool to see what we planned come to life.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Savannah: Communicate! I truly believe communication is key and knowing yourself, your spouse, and each other’s thoughts/feelings is a huge part of your relationship!

Josh: Keep your circle full of positivity. It isn’t easy being married or having a family and if you aren’t surrounded by people that support you both, it makes it significantly harder.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?

Savannah: Once you find your person, loving is so easy and takes on a new definition. Meeting Josh and falling in love made me truly understand that this is what love is.

Josh: Savannah is one of the most amazing caring kind funny and beautiful people I ever met. The way she approaches life and being a mom and a wife are awe inspiring and I hope everyone can find their own Savannah.
