This photo session was not just about documenting baby Madison’s first days in the world—it was about celebrating the first pages of a profoundly beautiful family story. For their parents, and eventually for Madison and her brother, these images will always stand as a testament to the love and deep connection that started from the very beginning. As years will pass and these two grow together, they will always have these cherished moments, frozen in time, reminding them of where their journey as best friends began!
What’s your favorite family pastime together?
Our family enjoys spending time outdoors. We find peace in God’s beauty in places and times such as with our horses, or time exploring the wilderness in Montana. Making time to slow down and be in the rhythm of nature and how life is more intended to be lived.
Any lessons you learned as a family through the last year?
So far, this year has been a year of learning and experiencing growth. Our family grew as we welcomed our daughter. Our toddler grew and turned three. Our hearts have grown, as has our patience in this season of growing.
Tell us a fun or silly story that happened to your family recently!
Our toddler absolutely loves dance parties. And our infant absolutely loves watching her brother be silly. The two of them giggle back and forth at each other nonstop. These moments fill my heart with pure joy.
What have you recently done to put family as a major focus in your life?
Each summer we take a family trip to Montana. It’s a place we have gone to every year since before we were married, and seeing this time together grow and take shape as we’ve started a family has been a beautiful thing to watch. The mountains are a special place where we disconnect from the world, and connect as a family.
If you had one piece of advice for other families, what would it be?
Everything. Is. Temporary. This has been my mantra in the recent months while having a newborn and toddler during this motherhood season. Is it both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. The magical newborn moments are temporary. The toddler-tude is temporary. The way their hand fits in yours is temporary. The sleepless nights of infancy are temporary. Every day is a gift – they have never been this big before, and they’ll never be this small again.
