A Lake Como-Inspired Engagement on the Waters of Lake Tahoe

With the serene waters of Lake Tahoe glistening behind them, Cameron and Lev celebrated their engagement in timeless fashion aboard a classic wooden boat, styled with effortless elegance. Captured by the talented Bre Jane Photography, this shoot blended European coastal charm with the natural grandeur of the Sierra Nevadas—resulting in a visual love letter that feels equal parts high-fashion and heart-centered.

Inspired by the romantic allure of Lake Como, this editorial brought together soft waves, a silky white gown, and the unmistakable glow of a couple completely in love. Cam and Lev’s story started on these very shores years ago, making it the perfect backdrop for this intimate moment. Their joy is infectious, their chemistry undeniable—and the images are a gentle reminder to slow down, soak it all in, and savor the magic of now.

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

We met on the beach in Lake Tahoe on the Fourth of July in 2018, but didn’t truly spend time together until the next July 4 in 2019 when Cameron brought some girlfriends to visit Lev for the holiday and to party in his college town, San Luis Obispo. Cameron’s first impression of Lev was that he was so handsome and tall! Lev’s first impression of Cameron was “she was a cute little spitfire, bouncing off the walls, igniting everything in the room” and that “she took my breath away”. Once we started spending time together, we never really stopped. We spend more time together than anyone we’ve ever met! We just don’t get sick of each other and are both each other’s favorite person.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

The day before Lev proposed, we were in Japan and Lev went out all night with Cameron’s brother and his local friend. He never made it back to the room! He called Cameron to come find him at 5 AM in the streets of Tokyo, slept all the next day, and then proposed in Yoyogi Gardens the day after that, and Cameron still somehow said yes. He’d never done anything like that before in our 5 years of dating, so I think he was nervous!

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

The hardest thing we’ve gone through as a couple was Lev having a spine injury and then surgery this past February 2025. We got engaged the previous May, then Cameron did an internship, and as soon as it ended, Lev was snowboarding and injured his spine. He was unable to move for about 3 months until he got cleared for surgery, and that was really hard with Cameron working full time, trying to study for her dietitian licensing exam, and having two high energy dogs. But that’s all behind us now, Lev is standing up straight, Cameron is officially a registered dietitian, and the dogs are back to getting all the walks.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

Cameron’s mom will be leading our ceremony. Cameron will also be wearing her great grandmother’s pearls and other jewelry. Family is really important to both of us, and we want a really small wedding, so our immediate family make up the majority of our guests. Since we’re doing a destination wedding, everyone is going a week early to spend time together.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

Cameron says the most important part of the wedding are the vows and the promises we will make to each other. We’re also having more of a wedding week than just a wedding day, so it’s going to be really nice to spend so much time with our favorite people in Hawaii. Lev says sharing the ceremony with close family and friends in a very special place.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

The best thing Cameron has learned from Lev is to slow down and not rush all the time. He has also magnified her confidence that she can do anything, and he really makes me feel like anything is possible. Lev has learned from Cameron his ability to will things into existence, and the importance of positive self image.

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Cameron’s favorite thing about Lev is his ability to make everything fun and exciting. He’s so smart and always able to teach her something. Lev’s favorite thing about Cameron is her ability to make light of suboptimal situations, how we have fun together, are best friends, and sex partners.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

We kept it simple so it’s been really nice just not being overwhelmed with details and so many things to do. We have a really great team of vendors, our day of coordinator Lexi with Hitched in Maui, Bre with Bre Jane Photography, Bella Bloom florals, Marvin Tevaga our ukelele player, and Maui Wedding Cakes have all been very communicative and I know our wedding will be amazing!

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Cameron says: Always have fun together. You should marry your best friend. It’s also important to keep the spark alive and make sure you do what you need to do to still think the other is smoking hot! Take care of yourselves and take care of each other. Find time for self care, even if it’s just 5 minutes. Looks come and go but if you love the person and you do your best to make healthy choices, then your attraction to each other will last and you’ll be able to continue doing the things you enjoy.

Lev says not to let resentment build. Figure out your problems as they arise. Confront things as they occur. It makes things a lot easier when you understand the expectations of the other person instead of letting yourself get deep into a rut and then having to try and dig yourself out.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?

Cameron says: Love can be magical. We believe in energy and being connected on a cellular level. If you lead with love, you can’t do wrong. Always think of your person and what would best benefit them when making decisions.

Lev says: it’s not always easy, but the fruit of the labor is always worth it in the end.
