A Classic Charleston Wedding

A Classic Charleston Wedding

A classic and bright Charleston wedding at the Gadsden House! Paige and Boone had a beautiful and fun filled day that was just filled with sunshine and smiles!

from the photographer: “Paige and Boone’s wedding at the Gadsden House in Charleston was a picture-perfect celebration of joy and love. Surrounded by the timeless charm of the venue, the couple embraced a classic blue and white color palette. Every detail, from including their sweet pup, Wilmie, in their first look to the delicate floral arrangements, to the serene outdoor ceremony setup, reflected their vibrant personalities and shared excitement for the day. Their energy was infectious, and their smiles never left their faces as they said “I do” under Charleston’s iconic greenery. The reception was equally lovely, with tablescapes adorned in crisp whites and soft blues, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for family and friends to celebrate. It was a day filled with laughter, love, and the kind of happiness that left everyone glowing long after the last dance.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

Boone and I met during a fleeting four-week window when he was in Charlotte, NC for a law school internship. At the time, I was working as a research coordinator at a local hospital, and somehow, in the chaos of our busy schedules, our paths crossed. I still vividly remember asking him, *“Are you going to see me again?”*—and without hesitation, he said yes. True to his word, he did, and despite the miles between us, we never stopped finding ways to stay connected. What started as a brief encounter quickly turned into something neither of us expected, proving that when the right person comes along, distance doesn’t stand a chance. And the rest, as they say, is history! As for first impressions, Boone was kind-hearted and joy to be around. He quickly became such a ray of sunshine in my life! Paige had just the right mix of sass and humor to keep things lively. She was quick-witted, never one to hold back a clever remark, and always kept me on my toes.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

In just one year, life threw a lot our way. Paige started her new job as a PA, we moved into a new home together in a brand-new city, and for the first time, we weren’t long distance. As if that wasn’t enough, we decided to tackle wedding planning at the same time—because why not add a little extra chaos? Between adjusting to new routines, juggling careers, and making what felt like a million wedding decisions, every day was an adventure. Thankfully, our longhaired mini dachshund, Wimlie, was there to keep things light, reminding us to take breaks (mostly for belly rubs). Somehow, through all the craziness, it came together perfectly, and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

In addition to our first dance, Paige planned a special dance with her brother and uncle, who have always been important figures in her life. It was a heartfelt moment that meant so much to her and to them. Boone and Paige also set out photographs of loved ones who are no longer with us, ensuring their presence was felt throughout the day. The rehearsal dinner was another way we honored family, filled with great toasts and stories that brought everyone together. One of the highlights was Boone’s two older sisters sharing old childhood photos, reminiscing about childhood memories and all the moments that led us here. It was the perfect way to blend past and present, making the day even more meaningful.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

Boone’s favorite moment was saying our vows during the first look—just the two of us, taking in the moment before the day swept us away. And, of course, Wimlie made it even more special, surprising him in a tiny wedding dress outfit, extra long for a stage-ready dachshund. Paige’s favorite part was standing up there, holding Boone’s hand in front of all the special people in our lives, feeling the weight of the moment in the best way. It was overwhelming in the most beautiful way—to see everyone we love gathered in one place, celebrating with us.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

Our favorite part of wedding planning was bringing together all the details to create an event that truly reflected us—both as a couple and as individuals. Every choice felt special, from the colors to the little personal touches that made it uniquely ours. We knew we wanted a coastal, airy feel, inspired by the summers we both spent growing up at the beach and the lowcountry atmosphere of the wedding location. It was exciting to see our vision come to life, blending our styles in a way that felt effortless. Even through the endless decisions, it was always about making the day feel like *us*.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Coordinate plenty of food and drinks for the “getting ready” period for the guys and girls. Make sure you have a good speaker for music during that time too because nothing gets the excitement high like the right playlist. And, most importantly, don’t forget your tux at home…not speaking from experience, of course..
