Beautiful bridal inspiration in a historic home – soft and delicate with a touch of blush scattered throughout!
from the photographer: “Simple, yet romantic. Those words are the core of this blush-toned bridal editorial, designed to create an elegant autumn feel. As both the stylist and the photographer, I knew that I wanted to incorporate a gown that wasn’t pure white and one that had layers and texture to it. The beautiful dress that we ultimately chose is a beautiful ivory, with delicate feathers clinging to its bodice sheer shoulders: a perfect emulation of autumn elegance.
Our bridal model, Emely, held a stunning bouquet brimming with blush-colored roses and greenery. A beautiful floor installation of flowers perfectly complimented our venue’s colored lounge furniture, while more greenery and flowers wound their way through Emely’s hair. We even scattered rose petals on century-old hardwood floors, completing our vision of bringing the outdoors inside.
As I directed and photographed Emely, I began to notice how much I loved the simplicity of the shoot we had put together. All the way from petal-filled flatlays to hair & makeup, the finished images give off a quiet stillness and exude swan-like movement fitting for the feathered gown. Just like in this styled shoot, there is so much beauty and romance to be found in the soft and still moments of autumn.”
