Today we are sharing a romantic Saddlerock Ranch wedding with the most beautiful setting nestled in the California hills. Classic color choices, a stunning design & nature’s backdrops paired with such sweet moments documented all throughout the day created captivating imagery. Savanna and Jeff mentioned how they loved spending time with their guest during cocktail hour, seeing their wedding vision being enjoyed by their loved ones was one of their favorite parts of their day!
Savanna and Jeff’s wedding was so fun and relaxed from start to finish at The Vineyard at Saddlerock Ranch. Complete with rustic, romantic details, a stunning sweetheart table, an amazing dance party, and an Afters Ice Cream truck for dessert, their wedding was the event of the summer. -Samantha Kin of To Be Loved Events
How did you meet? Like any modern couple, we met on a dating app (Coffee Meets Bagel). After a few messages back and forth Jeff asked me on a first date to a local wine bar. Our first date was filled with great wine and even better conversation. It wasnât long before a second date was on the books at an Italian restaurant in Laguna Beach. There we shared even more wine, lots of laughs, and our first kiss in the rain. We have been inseparable since.
What is your proposal story? With an upcoming trip to Hawaii planned, Jeff thought this would be the perfect opportunity to pop the question. After doing much research on Google Earth to find the perfect spot for the proposal, immediately upon arrival Jeff insisted on taking a walk along the beach. With a little coaxing, I reluctantly agreed to take a stroll down the beach. After the walk proved to be more tiring in the soft sand and warm tropical air than anticipated, Jeff convinced me to push just a bit further. Finally, after passing the World War II pillbox at the edge of Kawela Bay, Jeff used a pair of binoculars to distract me while he got down on one knee. When I turned around he popped the question. The rest is history.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding. Jeff and I both wanted an airy, elegant, summer wedding. We picked our venue for the stunning backdrop of the vines and rolling Malibu hills. Throughout the process we were deliberate to not do anything that would take away from the venue and all its natural beauty. We truly wanted the venue to shine. We went with white and natural linens, white florals and greenery, and wood rentals to enhance the vineyard esthetic. The lighting added an extra touch of sparkle that added to the magic of the evening.Â
What were your favorite parts of the day? Our favorite memory from the day was walking into cocktail hour after the ceremony. It was so special seeing our vision come to life with everyone we loved present. We loved that our planner, photographer, and videographer made it possible for us to enjoy that extra time with family and friends.
Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details. We have a 1 year old puppy, Wally. We went back and forth for a while if he should come to the wedding. In the end, we decided no but we made sure he was there in spirit. Each of the groomsmen wore special socks with Wally’s face on them and our photo-booth included cut outs of Wally to take a picture with.
Tell us about your attire choices. I purchased my dress at The White Dress in Corona Del Mar. I had spent the whole day shopping at multiple bridal shops in the Orange County area and The White Dress was the final shop of the day. Going in, I had an idea of what I wanted but had not quite found “the one” at any of the bridal stores. At the time I was looking for something light, airy, and with a delicate applique. It only took The White Dress a matter of minutes to pull out the perfect dress, the Gypsey Queen by Angel Rivera.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip? The most important thing to us while planning was ensuring that guests would have a good time! This included creating a one of a kind ambiance filled with love, laughter, plentiful signature cocktails, epic tunes, and unforgettable views.
Tell us about your wedding cake. I am gluten free so early on we decided that a wedding cake was not for us. Instead we decided to go with a food truck. Given that it was a warm summer night, what better than an ice cream truck? We had Afters Ice Cream cater and they were a huge hit.
