Nicole and Will wanted an eclectic wedding at the Common House in Richmond Virginia. We love the urban feel mixed with vivid, documentary moments!
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Will and I met through mutual friends. I was a sweetheart for the fraternity that he had joined, and we found ourselves single our last year in college at Virginia Tech. We had known each other for a few years – but at the suggestion of one of our mutual friends, we went to the fraternity formals together and were inseparable since then. My first impression of Will was he was really funny and goofy. His first impression of me was that I was easy to talk to and smart.
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
Will and I started dating while living in 2 different states. Our first 2 years of our relationship were spent long distance, and consisted of both of us driving 4 hours every weekend to see each other.
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
The most important part of our wedding day was seeing all of our family and friends in one place. We tried to focus on giving our family and friends a great party – everyone present played an important part in our lives and we wanted to thank them by giving them a good time!
What is your favorite thing about each other?
We both like to make each other laugh – we rarely take each other seriously and always try to keep the mood light.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
My favorite part about planning our wedding was the anticipation leading up to it and seeing all our hard work pay off in the end. It was really rewarding to see everything work out perfectly – the day was drama free and everything seemed to fall into place. I also had a great wedding planner – Anne Michelle of The Hive!! She made planning the wedding so easy and fun.
I also had this idea of walking down the aisle to Lover, by Taylor Swift. We had a string quartet play it and it was SO COOL to see it come to life!!
