A sun filled tropical wedding on the coast of Hawaii sounds amazing, doesn’t it? Mariana and Chris had a destination wedding in Maui with their family and friends and we are absolutely in love with this sun kissed day. With mountains in the background and the ocean at their feet, it was truly a memorable day for them.
from the planner, Platinum Weddings and Events: “A long time ago in a land far, far away…Mariana was born in the tiny country of Armenia and Chris in the small town of Petaluma. Fast forward to 2015 and their paths happened to cross at their mutual friend, Riordan Gomez’ birthday celebration in San Francisco. They continued to date each other while Mariana finished nursing school and Chris trained to be a firefighter. After going through major life changes, several moves, jobs and schooling, they both finally moved to and now work in the city that brought them together. Fast forward again to 2019, and Mariana and Chris celebrated their love for one another in front of family and friends at the beautiful Sugar Beach Estate in Kihei, HI. Their celebration was a romantic and fun ceremony with the ocean backdrop. They incorporated a sentimental butterfly release to honor the Groom’s older brother (honorary Best Man) who is no longer with them. The decor was soft pinks and whites, accented with beautiful twinkle lighting. Bridesmaids wore soft pink flowing dresses and the Groomsmen stood out in grey slacks with suspenders. The Bride and Groom were over the moon with how everything turned out and reflect fondly on such a special day.”
from the bride: “We loved the idea of getting married in a warm, tropical location near the water. Maui was the perfect choice and the setting definitely inspired our wedding decor. We wanted bright whites mixed with tropical greenery and touches of blush. We also wanted a very romantic feel during the reception lighting, drapery and candles were a must! Most importantly, we wanted our guests to have an amazing time and to dance the all night. I thought the ambiance was important to achieve that so we splurged on lighting, good music, and decor. We also splurged on photography so we could capture all the special moments.
We donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation on behalf of our guests. This was special to us since Chris’ brother passed away from Melanoma and couldn’t be with us on our wedding day. We (also) released butterflies during our ceremony to represent those who couldn’t be with us on our wedding day.”
