How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another

Our first meeting took place in kindergarten. We attended the same group for one year, with my mother as our teacher. Our second meeting happened 12 years later at my best friend’s birthday party. It turns out he was her second cousin! Although fate kept trying to bring us together, we only truly noticed each other two and a half years later, on November 7, 2008, at a mutual friend’s birthday party.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

While I wasn’t particularly interested in attending the birthday party, my friend convinced me to come. It seems fate had a plan! We sparked a connection that night, unaware it wasn’t our first meeting. When I introduced my husband to my parents, my mother insisted she knew him from somewhere. She unearthed a photo of us together in kindergarten! Sixteen years later, our love story, born (or perhaps rekindled) that night, continues to thrive.

Describe a hurdle you overcame in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

When my husband proposed for the second time on our anniversary, we decided it was time to stop procrastinating and have our wedding that summer. I had six months to plan and prepare, which might seem short. Still, in our eyes, everything went perfectly and just as we wanted—easy, relaxed, without any stress or tension, just in a good mood and complete relaxation in the company of our closest friends and family. However, we encountered one small problem during the planning process—the wedding planner. We didn’t have one since I had organized several parties myself and knew who, what, and where everything should be. Some people were bothered by this. The venue manager said the manor is only rented through a wedding planner. So, at that moment, I officially became not only the bride but also the wedding planner. When rude and tactless behavior towards my event staff started on the eve of the wedding, I realized that no one had ever rented that manor personally; everything was done only through one wedding organizing company. I won’t lie; thoughts even crossed my mind that the wedding might not take place because the manor manager did not answer the phone, the manor guard said that the manager had gone to the doctor and had a day off, and the manor security did not let the wedding staff onto the premises because they had not heard anything about the wedding taking place the next day. However, after some tension, everything was resolved, and our perfect wedding went as planned!

The story of Ieva and Edvinas’ wedding – a true embodiment of elegance and personal flair. This black-tie event, held in the warm embrace of a Lithuanian July, wasn’t just a celebration of love; it was a testament to the power of vision and the beauty of self-expression, all masterfully orchestrated by the bride herself.

The color palette of white, green, and dusty blue set the stage for an event that was both glamorous and intimately personal. Every detail of this classic wedding is the signature of the bride’s impeccable style and her dedication to creating an experience that would resonate with every guest.

The day began with an air of luxury at the 5-star hotel Pacai, setting a tone of sophistication and anticipation. As the couple prepared for their big moment, one could feel the buzz of excitement, a prelude to the magic to unfold.

The ceremony, held in the stunning Holy Trinity Church of Sudervė, was nothing short of a fairy tale. The historical and architectural beauty of the church provided a backdrop that was both awe-inspiring and humbling, reminding us of the enduring power of love and commitment.

After the ceremony, a delightful twist awaited the guests – an invitation to indulge in a cocktail of Aperol Spritz and ice cream. This unique touch not only delighted the guests but also reflected the couple’s desire to create an experience that was both elegant and joyously relaxed.

The reception, hosted in Lithuania’s most beautiful manor, showcased the bride’s creative vision. Here, the celebration truly came to life. The combination of great food and drinks, alongside top-tier entertainment including a live singer and an innovative dessert show in place of the traditional cake cutting, illustrated a celebration that was both grand and deeply personal— the evening culminated in a spectacular display of fireworks, symbolizing the explosive joy and bright future of Ieva and Edvinas.

This wedding, in all its glory, stands as a shining example of inspiration. It shows us that with passion, creativity, and a deep understanding of own style, a wedding can be more than just a ceremony; it can be a deeply personal and unforgettable experience. Ieva’s role in planning and styling this event serves as an empowering reminder of what can be achieved when we pour our hearts into our endeavors. -Jurgita Lukos Photography

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

We’ve been a family for eight years but didn’t exchange wedding vows until last summer. It was very important to us that the wedding wasn’t just a celebration for us but for our entire family, especially our two wonderful children, Barbora and Leon. On the eve of the wedding, the whole large family went to the Pacai Hotel. We shared a delicious pre-wedding dinner filled with laughter and heartfelt toasts. The next morning was filled with joyful anticipation as our parents helped us get dressed. My dad walked me down the aisle, and my sister and her future husband witnessed our marriage. The most touching moment will always remain in my heart when my daughter brought the rings to the church, and my son waited with my husband at the altar. Walking towards them, I kept thinking about how lucky I was to have them!

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

During the church ceremony, the most profound moment unfolded. Seeing the renewed excitement sparkle in our parents’ eyes and the boundless joy erupt in our children’s laughter, our hearts overflowed. Finally, after years as a family, we were confirming our love with the sacrament of marriage. It felt peaceful and perfect, a beautiful culmination of our journey together.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

When my husband and I first met, we were very different, but opposites indeed attract. However, after so many years together, it seems we have become more alike or taken on each other’s best qualities, slowly becoming like one. I am very happy that I learned from my husband the ability to react calmly to everything, to understand that there are no insurmountable challenges in life and that life largely depends on our desires and efforts. I taught my husband to enjoy every moment of life, no matter how small because being with the most precious and closest people is a gift of life.

What is your favorite thing about each other?

We are proud of each other because we have overcome all the trials that life has thrown our way. In his eyes, I am the one who perfectly preserves the comfort and warmth of home, and I am the best mother on Earth. He is our knight, always thinking about the safety, well-being, and endless happiness of our family.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

We threw ourselves into planning the wedding, but the children’s party zone held a special place in our hearts. We envisioned a magical fairy tale for them, and “Deco Code” truly outdid themselves! Everything looked magical, and the children’s eyes sparkled with delight as they explored the space. Their laughter and joyous shouts were the sweetest music to our ears. It wasn’t just the adults having fun; the littlest guests were having a blast. Our children still talk about the incredible party, and it fills us with joy knowing we created such happy memories for them.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

To all couples, we wish you this: don’t rush through your wedding day. Absorb every precious moment, the stolen glances, the whispered jokes, and the pure joy radiating from your partner’s eyes. Let the beauty of the day wash over you, creating memories etched in your hearts forever.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy; love does not boast and is not proud… Love never ends (1 Cor 13:4-8). When you carry such words in your heart, it is impossible to go wrong, and you want to do more and more for your loved one every day.
