This beautiful lifestyle newborn session was a dream come true for me— a lovely family, a sweet baby girl, and a gorgeous home full of natural light. I loved watching the parents’ faces light up with joy as they held their newest little one and seeing the big brother dote on his little sister. What’s your favorite family pastime? We love packing it up and heading to the beach! Our toddler absolutely loves running around on the sand and finding all sorts of shells. It’s been fun watching him grow up through our trips to the beach since we moved back to California last summer. On our first trip to the beach he couldn’t walk, the next he was just starting to walk, and now we can’t keep up with him. It’s so fun to watch the joy in his eyes in the small things like finding sea shells and watching the waves roll in and out. We can’t wait to bring our daughter here and share this special place with her.
Any lessons you learned as a family through the last year? This past year has been so trying in so many ways for so many families, ours included. We had such big plans for traveling and showing our son so many of our favorite places. We quickly had to rethink what was important and how to scale back. We learned that we didn’t need vacations and travel plans to create really special memories as a family. We had to look for joy in the daily things, like going for walks together, which has become one of our favorite things to do together.
Tell us a fun or silly story that has happened to your family. It’s not necessarily a silly story but having a toddler that’s learning to talk has been pretty entertaining! The things he says have stopped us in our tracks, lit up our faces, and melted our hearts. He’s become big on negotiating which is hilarious as he tries to bargain for longer play time, more bedtime stories, or more M&Ms.
What does family mean to you? Family is everything to us! They are the people you want to spend the most time with, the people you want to share all the highs and lows with, and the people that make you the happiest! You would do anything for them, as they would for you. Whether they’re related to you or they’re your chosen family, there’s nothing better than family!
