from the photographer: “Nestled along the southern California coastline, Laguna Beach is known for its sunny beaches, coves and endless ocean waves. Farther inland, coastal canyons offer weaving trails and spectacular views of the vast sea and dramatic golden sunsets. Inspired by these lovely views, Jen McDonald of Love Is in the Air Events, set out to create an elopement editorial that highlights the natural beauty of the Laguna Hills.
After selecting a floral color palette to complement the organic hues found in the area, Jen teamed up with floral designer, Lily Rodin, to infuse the day with color. With the goal of replicating the blushy coral tones found in the famous California sunsets, Lily centered her designs with Golden Rain Pods, which were used as a base in almost every piece as well as the chair swag. She finished off the designed with blush pink hues and pops of yellow. “I loved how much the florals resembled that day’s sunset with its gold, blush and even purple tones,” says Lily. On the table, taupe place settings complemented the dusty tones of the many trails found in the canyon, while letting the floral centerpiece take center stage.
The strapless blush gown by Marc Zunino boasted a simple and elegant feel while giving the bride freedom to glide like a nature goddess through the outdoors. The soft, blush tones of the bridesmaid dresses by were reminiscent of cotton candy clouds. The groom’s black tuxedo added a formal touch to the affair. Hair and makeup by Kohner showcased a natural look befitting the day.
