Grace & Thomas’ wedding was a beautiful summer day in Michigan at the Cushing Field House. Their design was a blend of rustic charm, refined details with a whimsical touch brought in by the florals! On June 3rd middle school sweethearts Grace and Thomas got married at the Cushing Field House in Holly Michigan. The pop of colors mixed with the rustic indoor/outdoor venue was truly so beautiful! The mix match blush bridesmaids dresses and whimsical bright colored florals felt so happy and fun. Grace and Thomas’s sweet puppy Remi made an appearance and even walked down the aisle with the ring bearer. The candle lit reception space was filled with happy colors and stunning floral arrangements. I especially loved the wildflower seating chart that welcomed the guests into the reception. It was a special and emotional day celebrating this sweet couple who has been together for so long. Grace and Thomas have truly grown up together and they have a beautiful relationship. Grace and Thomas’s photos truly show how beautiful and joyful their wedding day was. Being middle school sweethearts they were beyond excited and ready to be married!! The bright colors photographed beautifully creating a fun summer day feeling in their images. It is so easy to tell in the photos how happy Grace and Thomas were on their special day. -Kate Capper Photography How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Thomas and I were middle school sweethearts. Our families were friends growing up and Grace always had the biggest crush on Thomas. Throughout elementary school Grace was too shy to ever talk to Thomas. Then came middle school and Thomas finally told Grace he was crushing on her. There rest is history! We’ve been best friends since we were kids. There’s simply nothing better than being married to your life long best friend. What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Our favorite part of wedding planning was picking out all the details that represented who we are. We aren’t the most traditional/ formal couple so we didn’t necessarily want all the typical wedding traditions to portray our wedding. We had so much fun planning our day to reflect who we are as people. We wanted our guests to truly feel our love and energy in every aspect of our day! We believe we accomplished this goal! If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? We know this sounds cliche but slow down and enjoy the whole process. It is so easy to get consumed by the planning, the decision making, opinions from others, etc. and completely lose sight of why you’re doing all of this in the first place. I promise you your guests won’t notice if something doesn’t turn out how you planned. What they will notice is the love and energy between the bride and groom. Also, don’t listen to anyone else’s opinions. Everyone will have something to say about every decision, but don’t listen to them. It’s not their wedding! Slow down, enjoy the whole process, and remember why you’re getting married! What is the most honest thing you can say about love? True love isn’t the couple goals, fancy date nights or the perfect lives we see portrayed on social medias. Love is being a shoulder to cry on. It is being your biggest cheerleader, yet your toughest critic, while always telling the truth. True love is work. You have to choose your person you’re willing to work through your relationship with. It’s tough, but at the end of a bad day, you know there’s no one else you’d rather spend that bad day with.
