“We had our first date at Mollys in Soulard! We met online (Bumble) and our first date was for brunch at Mollys in 2020. We had such a great time, our brunch ended up lasting over 4 hours. Since then, we’ve been a regular at Mollys and celebrate big milestones there…birthdays, anniversaries, etc. And it’s also where Austin proposed! So Mollys has been a constant in our relationship and where it all began. The staff there still remembers our proposal it was the best.”
The bride is wearing a sophisticated wedding gown with a luxurious veil. Lush, petal-soft blooms by Jennie Catherine Flowers set the stage for a grand evening. While the groom’s dapper suit by Men’s Warehouse provided a polished and classic feel. This feature is the perfect fit for a couple seeking traditional, contemporary inspiration for their wedding day.
“Austin’s favorite part of the day was holding hands and saying our vows. ‘Even though we were in front of 240 people, it felt like just the two of us.’ My favorite part was being introduced as husband and wife and getting to turn and look at a very full room of people who love and support us. Happiest moment of the day!”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Austin and I met on Bumble during Covid and met for brunch for our first date. We talked about everything from our large families (we both have 7+ siblings), favorite holidays, and even a high school camp we’d both attended at separate times. The conversation was so so easy – it was like we had known each other forever and we both didn’t want the date to end. It ended up being a 4 hour brunch and by the end we both knew we’d found something special. What is your favorite thing about each other? Austin is able to relax and calm me down better than anyone. He makes me feel safe and secure, no matter what.
Austin: I love how caring Mallory is. Always wanting to make sure everybody is heard, included, and taken care of. And making sure we always have groceries 🙂 Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! While walking down the aisle, my two year old niece and flower girl stopped to pick up the flower petals instead of throwing them. A very adorable reminder that even with hours and hours of planning, some things don’t always go according to plan and that’s ok! What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another? Mallory: Patience. Austin is so patient with me and doesn’t let things get to him as easily as I tend to. I really love his patience and easy-going nature.
Austin: How to be helpful. Just because someone doesn’t ask for help doesn’t mean you shouldn’t offer. Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day? Since we both have such large families, we wanted to incorporate our family in as many aspects as possible. My brother is a pastor and officiated our wedding, which was incredibly special. We had our mothers light a unity candle to signify our two families coming together. Our ushers were also family and they escorted my sisters down the aisle. And finally, we had our nieces and nephews serve as flower girls and ring bearers. Since our families play such a huge role in our lives, we wanted our wedding to reflect how special they are to us. What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? The menu tasting event was easily our favorite part of wedding planning! The food at our wedding was AMAZING and is something that our friends and family consistently comment on, even months later. Our venue (GRBIC) hosted tasting events for upcoming couples and we had the added surprise of a tornado warning during our tasting event. They took it all in stride and served us plenty of wine while we waited it out in the storm shelter. If anything, it underscored how prepared they are to handle an emergency situation should anything arise on wedding day. If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s so easy to get caught up trying to make your wedding day look like what you see on social media, but at the end of the day – as long as you and your partner are married, it will have been a success! So enjoy the little moments, and don’t let yourself get too overwhelmed with small things that won’t matter. What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? Austin’s favorite part of the day was holding hands and saying our vows. ‘Even though we were in front of 240 people, it felt like just the two of us.’ My favorite part was being introduced as husband and wife and getting to turn and look at a very full room of people who love and support us. Happiest moment of the day! What is the most honest thing you can say about love? Love is the ultimate comfort. We can be our most transparent selves around each other. We can express any emotion, share any thought, and tell any joke that comes to mind. Some emotions aren’t warranted, some thoughts are dumb, and most jokes are bad. But the ability to share them with each other is something that makes us both so comfortable in our relationship and as individuals. We just feel at home with each other and it’s the best feeling in the world. Styling + Wedding Management: hawthornecreativeco.com
