A Timeless French Garden Wedding with a Sparkling Disco Reception

Parker and Patrick’s love story began at Tulane University, where their friendship blossomed over the years into a lasting romance. Six years after college, they reunited for a casual drink in New Orleans that turned into dinner—and the start of forever. Patrick proposed at that same hotel bar, bringing their story beautifully full circle.

For Parker, marrying at her parents’ Baltimore home was a childhood dream realized. The family estate, with its grand stone façade, manicured gardens, and French-inspired charm, set the perfect tone for a classic garden celebration. The ceremony unfolded on the front steps of the home framed by cascading green and white florals, followed by a cocktail hour that flowed seamlessly into an elegant tented reception. Every space reflected warmth, hospitality, and timeless design.

As evening fell, the celebration transformed into a lively, glittering dance party beneath hanging disco balls and twinkling lights. Parker changed into a sparkling mini reception dress and sneakers, while guests packed the dance floor late into the night. It was the perfect balance of sophistication and pure joy—an unforgettable night at home, surrounded by love, laughter, and a touch of sparkle.

“This is a house where you get dressed up—but can let loose.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

We first met in college at Tulane University. We didn’t date, but ran in the same social circles and knew each other. After graduating, Parker moved to Nashville, TN (coincidentally, Patrick’s hometown), and then to Los Angeles, CA, to work in the entertainment industry. Patrick remained in New Orleans to attend law school at Tulane. Six years later, in the Fall of 2021, Parker was visiting New Orleans and we decided to meet up for a drink at a hotel bar near the French Quarter. That drink turned into a dinner reservation later that week, and the rest is history.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

Having one of our best friends officiate the wedding was the best decision we could have made. His speech was personal and thoughtful, and he did such a wonderful job painting the picture of our relationship over the years and sharing some funny moments with our guests. We didn’t know what he was going to say ahead of time, which made the ceremony that much more fun for us!

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to get married at my parents’ home in Baltimore, MD, which is not only a gorgeous setting, but also such a fun party house. (My parents are known for throwing wild, yet glamorous parties!) Our entire wedding—from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, reception, and after party—was positioned around different areas of their home and gardens. There’s something magical about getting married somewhere that means so much to you and has given you so many wonderful memories over the years.

Both Patrick and I are pretty traditional. We wanted to lean into a classic French garden party vibe, which was something we thought would be truly timeless. Our color focus was primarily green and white, but my dad has spent a great deal of time cultivating his gardens over the years and used those gardens as backdrops to bring in some pops of color.

Overall, we wanted it to be FUN, and tailor it towards the guests having a great time. This is a house where you get dressed up but can let loose.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

I loved that we did private vows. It was so special for us to take a moment amidst the busyness of the day, to be together just the two of us, and share something so personal in a quiet, intimate setting.

Thirteen years ago, Parker’s dad purchased a large format red blend wine that he wanted to save and serve at her future wedding. This was shared by our guests during dinner, and was very special to us.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

We wanted to choose a first dance song that was fun and that people knew, but wasn’t overdone at weddings. We went with “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone, and we took private dance lessons in the months leading up to the wedding, which were a lot of fun! We entered the reception going straight into the first dance, which got everyone up around the dancefloor. We had them join us about halfway through the song for another couple of songs before breaking for dinner. This sparked a lot of good energy for the rest of the night.

While we didn’t have a bridal party (just a maid of honor and best man), we invited a small group of friends over for a champagne toast before the ceremony began. It was so special to get to be with them in an intimate setting before the chaos of the evening began and you are pulled in a ton of different directions!

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Always keep in mind that something is bound to go wrong leading up to, or on the day of, the wedding. You can do everything within your power to prepare ahead of time, but at the end of the day, there are going to be some hiccups and you have to let go of control and enjoy each moment. It’s much easier said than done, but it was great advice that we were given and tried to hold ourselves to!

We’d recommend taking a moment immediately before the officiant begins speaking to look back at your guests and take it all in. It’s the one time in your life you get to have all of your loved ones in the same place at the same time celebrating your love.
