“Some of the most powerful times are when we’re quiet” – Michael W. Smith
Quiet is not something our world particularly espouses these days. There’s a lot of noise around us – people, technology, and voices all clamoring for attention. There’s information overload, and enormous data consumption. It feels like more than we can keep up with.
What if we started to see value in being slow instead of fast? Of being quiet instead of talking constantly (out loud or through social media). What if we’ve got this all wrong, and culture is shifting in a direction that is not only unsustainable, but harmful to our bodies? What if the stress overload will eventually make us crack in ways we can’t see coming?
Look for ways to break free of the chaos, or find peace IN the chaos. Remember that you have just one life to live, and the more ‘to-do’ things you have, the more that time passes quickly. You don’t want to waste your life – slow down, breathe … be quiet.
