Floral California Wedding: Kelley & George

Floral California Wedding

If you ever need encouragement for questionable first impressions ending well, Kelley & George are the perfect example! After meeting at the elevator of their college dorm at UCLA, George left their brief and admittedly awkward conversation about the weather curious for the cute girl he had “absolutely no shot with”. Kelley thought he seemed rude (poor guy!).

As luck would have it, they spoke again a month later—and the rest, as they say, is history! An ultimate redemption lead to a Halloween first date and an absolutely breathtaking wedding ceremony with what is quite possibly one of the finest floral arrangements we’ve ever seen. Theirs is a beautiful story of ups and downs and refreshing reality and so so so much love! We’re so honored to have this gorgeous couple representing our launch!

From the photographer, Mallory Dawn Photography:

“Kelley & George are the sweetest couple and their wedding day was absolutely stunning. From the smallest details to their ceremony view, it was all breathtaking. They met nine years ago at UCLA and their love story has continued ever since. On their wedding day they were surrounded by their closest family and friends. The most unique part of their wedding design was the beautiful floral backdrop that they stood in for their ceremony. The bride Kelley had this dream from day one and Little Hill Floral Designs made her vision a reality. Kelley and George were beyond ecstatic to say “I do” and I am so honored to have been there to capture it all.”

From Kelley & George:

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship.

“Healthy and effective communication was a hurdle that took us some time to overcome. When George was attending law school in another state, communication was vital to us making it through 3 years apart. It was easy to have things blown out of proportions due to misunderstandings. In order to maintain the relationship, we had to communicate how we felt. It was not just talking to each other but expressing our worries, sadness, fears, and happiness. To know what your partner is going through, we were able to be supportive and understanding. Overcoming that hurdle allowed us to grow individually but also as a couple.”

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

George: “I learned how to be strong. I have always been good at patience, but Kelley is so good at remaining strong and loyal even when life is so trying.”

Kelley: “I have learned how to love wholeheartedly. I thought I had some grasp of what love was, but I didn’t until I met him. I had to remove the protective layers of myself to have a real and meaningful relationship. When I look at him, I see home and that is exactly where I supposed to be.”

“Our favorite part about planning our wedding was meeting and establishing a relationship with each of our vendors. Our photographer, Mallory Dawn was able to capture such beautiful and tender moments of our relationship. It was such a blessing to have Mallory as a photographer and we could not have asked for more. Little Hill Floral Designs took my ideas and inspirations and just went above and beyond. Our ceremony florals were exactly what Kelley dreamed of and more. Our venue’s coordinators and staff really took care of us and we appreciate all of the work they did to bring our wedding to life. Kelley’s wedding dress alterations was in expert hands with Olivia at A Stitch in Time. The wedding dress alterations made Kelley feel so beautiful. All of our vendors were such experts in their field and we are truly grateful for all of their work to making our wedding day so special and meaningful.”
